Chapter 3

"Thorin! Oh my... How?!" he screamed in excitement. The little Hobbit had believed his friend, Thorin Oakenshield, was dead and yet he stood right here. King under the mountain. (y/n) stared at Thorin Oakenshield. She had heard so much about this dwarf-prince, or now dwarf-king, and the last thing had been his death. And Thorin couldn't believe that Bilbo was standing right in front of him. He gave Bilbo a slight smile and when he got a broad smile back, he finally believed his eyes.

"How is this even possible? You... you were dead... I...", Bilbo stammered and Thorin's smile became wider.

"First come in. You look tired. Later we have enough time for storytelling." But then he noticed the half-dwarf girl, which looked like an elf. Thorin frowned.

"This is (y/n)!", Bilbo introduced her, "She is half dwarf, half elf. Her father was one of the dwarves of Erebor." he explained and Thorin was soothed.

"Welcome Miss (y/n).", he said and led the two into a big room full of books and in a corner stood a cosy couch and some armchairs. It was the library. Thorin offered them a seat and without further ado (y/n) lay down on the couch and closed the eyes. Soon after, she fell asleep. Thorin and Bilbo sat in armchairs, facing each other, talking about how Thorin had survived.

"How is this possible?" Bilbo asked again and finally Thorin began to tell the story. After he died, Radagast had come on his eagle. Like every wizard, he had a magic stone in which life was kept, and because Thorin had just died, it was enough to revive him. Afterwards the other dwarves had brought him deep inside the mountain to cure him, which was the reason he hadn't been there when Bilbo had left. He hadn't known, no one had told the Hobbit he was still alive.
