As soon as Dale and Steve left the room, I ran over to Luke and frantically untied him. I gasped as I saw that his face was covered in blood. As soon as I removed his bounds, he fell to his knees. I put my arm around his shoulder and held him tightly. He smiled at me.
"Laura?" he asked.
"Yeah it's me." I whispered.
"I'm sorry." he said quietly.
"It's not your fault." I told him.
I jumped as Dale opened the door. He walked over and placed a bowl of water on the floor.
"Thanks." I mumbled quietly.
"I'm not your enemy unless you misbehave." he stated, before standing up.
"I'll give you guys a minute, but then I want to see you." he told me.
I nodded at him and watched as he left the room. I picked up the cloth and wrung it out. Luke looked at me as I gently wiped the blood from his face.
"What do you suppose he wants from us?" Luke asked.
"I don't know, but I guess we'll find out soon." I sighed.
"You have to get out of here." he whispered.
"I'm not leaving you." I replied.
"You have too." he said as he took my hand.
"We are in the middle of nowhere, there is no escape." I said quietly.
"I can't let him hurt you." he said as he gently brushed my cheek with the back of his hand.
I sighed as I finished cleaning his face. He smiled his thanks at me.
"I have to go see him." I whispered.
"No, stay here." he said, a note of panic in his voice.
"I can't, maybe if we do as he says everything will be alright." I sighed.
"Don't worry about him hurting me!" he exclaimed.
"I care about you." I told him.
"I have to go." I whispered as he leant towards me.
"Be careful." he said as his lips brushed against mine. I kissed him back briefly.
I could feel his eyes on me as I walked away from him. As I opened the door, I jumped as I stood face to face with Dale.
"This way." he said smiling.
I followed him into another room. He gestured for me to sit on the sofa.
"Are you warm enough?" he asked, as he placed another log on the fire.
I nodded and frowned. I couldn't understand why he was being nice to me. It must be part of his latest game. I sat on the edge of the sofa nervously.
"We need to talk." he sighed, as he stood, leaning against the fireplace.
"About what?" I asked.
"Our baby." he said.
I gasped and stared at him. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" he asked me.
"I don't know." I muttered.
"I have a problem Laura." he sighed.
I looked at him and waited for him to continue.
"I want Ashton to suffer for what he did to me, so I was going to kill you." he stated proudly.
"Was?" I squeaked.
He nodded. "But you're having my baby."
I glanced down at my bump as I waited for him to continue.
"So I'm going to kill Luke." he stated.
"WHAT, WHY?" I cried.
"I have to, because it's part of my plan." he stated quietly.
"What happens to me?" I asked nervously.
He shrugged.
I got up from the sofa and stood next to him.
"Please don't take Luke from me." I pleaded.
"I'm sorry, but I've made my mind up." he said walking away.
"Dale." I called after him.
"I'll give you a couple of days to say goodbye to him." he said before closing the door behind himself.
AN- I know Dale's behaviour is a bit random lol. It's all part of the game he's playing so bear with me lol. Vote and comment please :) x
