A Broken Soul

Chapter Ten

Ashton's POV

I grabbed my mum's phone, ran to my car and pulled away so fast that the tyres screamed. As I drove I quickly called Laura's number again, desperately hoping for a response. But it was switched off. I groaned in frustration.

I had no idea where to start looking for her. I frantically racked my brains, trying to work out where he would take her.

I jumped as my mum's mobile phone rang. I looked at the screen and saw that it was Michael.

"Hello!" I snapped.

"Ashton, we have a problem." he said.

"Yes I know we have a problem!" I snapped impatiently.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Dale has taken Laura!" I cried as I took a corner too fast.

"Oh my god!" he exclaimed.

"That explains a lot." he added.

"Explains what?" I asked him.

"Luke has gone missing, he must have taken him too." he stated.

"Why would he want Luke?" I said almost to myself.

"I don't know Ashton." he sighed.

"Where are you?" he added.

"Driving!" I snapped.

"Don't do anything stupid Ashton." he said.

I quickly hung up and stepped on the accelerator.

I made it to the police station in record time.

I quickly parked the car and ran into the station.

"Hi, you have to help me, my girlfriend has been kidnapped!" I exclaimed when I reached the desk.

"Name?" she replied.

"Ashton Irwin." I said quickly.

"Her name." she chuckled.

"Laura Evans." I said.

I tapped my fingers against the counter impatiently as she slowly filled in a form.

"We have to find her." I whispered.

She looked up at me and carried on filling in the form as if she had all the time in the world.

I slammed my hands against the desk.

"We should be looking for her, not doing paperwork!" I shouted.

She glared at me, before ringing a bell to summon one of her colleagues.

I waited and waited for what felt like an age. Every moment that I was away from her was painful, made even worse that she was with Dale. I needed her back in my arms where she belonged.

I was snapped out of my thoughts as a policeman called me through to his office. I was in a daze as I followed him.
