"Elemental Hero" (The Rising of the Shield Hero X Male Reader)

It's All My Fault...

*Y/N's POV*

I opened my eyes and saw fire around me, I heard screaming. I got up quickly and looked around. I saw Naofumi protecting Filo and Raphtalia. I run up to them.

Y/N: "The hell is going on?!"

Naofumi: "About time you woke up! We were all sleeping and then we got attacked."

I saw trees on fire, but I didn't see anyone that could have caused it... Unless...

Y/N: "Did I cause this fire?"

Raphtalia: "No, the person that attacked us did this."

???: "Ah, and the hero wakes up."

I turn around and receive a roundhouse kick to the head, sending me through a couple of trees. I fell down to the ground, coughing out some blood. I quickly got up.

Naofumi: "Y/N!"

I saw a giant fire ball come at and I lifted my arms up to try to block it, to make sure I could protect some trees. Who the hell is attacking right now?! The fire ball explodes as soon as my hands touch it. I feel a lot of pain surge throughout my left arm and I drop to one knee. I saw Naofumi run up to and stand next to me, he put his hand on my right shoulder.

Naofumi: "You okay?"

Y/N: "I can barely move my left arm..." 

???: "I was hoping you would live that."

I looked up and saw an ice spear come flying down at me. I pushed Naofumi out of the way. My eyes widened as I saw my right arm get cut off by the spear and I screamed out in pain. I fell down on the ground, trying to stop the bleeding from my right arm.

???: "This is all your fault."

I saw Filo land next to me. A hole through her chest, she was dead...

Naofumi: "FILO!!"

???: "Shield Hero, this is all his fault."

I saw Naofumi look at me.

Naofumi: "No!"

???: "He has the abilities to save all of you, yet, he doesn't show his real strength. If he was just stronger... She wouldn't be dead."

Raphtalia: "No..."

Y/N: "STOP IT!"

???: "Oh? But we have only just started. Elemental Hero, Y/N."

I saw a flash of light and I then heard Raphtalia scream. I looked over at her and her legs were missing...

Raphtalia: "MY LEGS! SOMEBODY..."

I saw a black figure come over to her and kick her in the head. She fell over flat on the ground, crying.

???: "Shut it, girl."

The black figure then stomped on her head, smushing it and causing blood to go flying everywhere. 

???: "Neither of you are strong enough. Letting everything close to you two die. Pathetic."

I tried to stand up, but fell back down. I'm losing too much blood...

???: "Y/N, we both know you have dealt with worse pain than this."

Inori: "Y/N!"

I looked to the right and saw Inori, Akame, and Ash. Why are they here?!

???: "Let the blood bath begin!"

I saw the black figure appear behind Inori and tear her head from her body. Akame jumped back and rushed to my side.

Akame: "Ash! Be careful!"

Ash: "Got it!"

She grabbed my left hand and held it tightly.

Akame: "Y/N, I promise you, you're gonna be okay!"

I didn't care about myself right now... I'm sorry... Filo... Raphtalia... Inori...

Akame: "Y/N...?"

I wasn't answering, I was just looking downwards, not knowing what to do anymore...

???: "Would you look at that, he's lost all hope. Watching his friends die because he was too weak."

Naofumi: "Y/N! We need you, we can't beat him without you!"

...

Naofumi: "Seriously...?"

Akame: "Y/N!! Please!! Help!!"

...

I heard a scream and heard something wet hitting the ground. I looked up and saw a hand through Akame's chest, holding her heart. 

Akame: "I... I--"

Her heart was then crushed. She fell over, dead...

Naofumi: "DAMN IT!"

???: "This has been fun, I'll be taking my leave now."

The black figure then disappeared. Naofumi fell to his knees.

Naofumi: "No... I..."

Y/N: "..."

Ash: "Y/N! Naofumi!"

She ran up to me and looked down at me.

Ash: "You know..."

I looked up at her.

Ash: "This is all your fault."

I heard Naofumi get up.

Naofumi: "Yeah, this is all his fault."

Y/N: "I'm sorry..."

Other Y/N: "Apologizing doesn't mean those who died, will come back."

Everything faded to black, I was still leaning against a tree. The only tree that was here...

Other Y/N: "You let them down. You let them die. If only you could protect others, like a hero should."

Y/N: "..."

Other Y/N: "If you don't take things more seriously..."

I saw my sister get her heart ripped out again, her blood going on my face.

Other Y/N: "Then you will lose those that are close to you!"

Y/N: "I don't believe you..."

Other Y/N: "Hmm?"

Y/N: "This is all a dream that was created by you..."

Other Y/N: "It is your nightmare. You are scared to lose any of them. But you should know, she will die if you don't give in to the power that you need!"

Y/N: "I can't believe you..."

Other Y/N: "Whatever, believe what you want. Wake up!"

I opened my eyes and quickly sat up.

Naofumi: "Y/N? Are you okay? You were thrashing around a lot in your sleep."

I brought a hand up to my face and held it there.

Y/N: "I don't know anymore..."

I stood up and walked over to a stream of water. I looked at my reflection.

Y/N: "My fault... Huh...?"

Naofumi: "You can talk to me, you know?"

I sigh and turn around and face Naofumi. I told him everything that happened within the nightmare. He seemed shocked by the end of it and upset by the deaths that occurred. Can't blame him... I turned back and kept looking at my reflection...

Naofumi: "Sorry, about the shitty nightmare. But, we're all alive, okay? It's all okay."

Y/N: "Yeah... Sure..."

A/N: It was all a dream... Or was it? Had this planned for a bit and realized how perfect it would be since it's close to Halloween. Over 1000 Words!
