I walk down my street. It was quiet, no on was rushing around to get to work or school. Saturday's were always quiet. I reach the dark green bus bay and sat down. I take my phone and change the song I was listening to 'Panic! At The Disco's' 'Impossible Year came on. I hum along to it.

A few minutes later, I saw a figure appear at the top of the hill. It was Hugo.

"Hey." He says once he arrives at the bay.

I take my ear buds out and greet him.

"Hi."

"So, what did you want to talk about?" I ask him once he sits down beside me.

"I wanted to say sorry face to face." He says.

I nod. "What happened?" I ask.

"What?" He asks.

"What happened?" I repeat quietly turning to face him properly. "Something happened and I want to know what."

He didn't say anything so I continued.

"I know I said I wouldn't ask weeks ago, but I am now."

"Why do you want to know?" He whispers.

"Because whatever happened hurt you, and it ended up hurting me as well." I reply.

"You know how I said I had a friend from my old town?" He says, his shoulders sagging a little bit.

I nod.

"His name was Carl. I knew he was slightly depressed, he had been for a while, but what I didn't know, and no one knew, was that he was suicidal. I was his only friend and after I left he got a lot worse. No one knew what was going on with him and his mental health, not even me, so it was difficult to help him when he refused to talk about it to anyone." Hugo stops to take a shaky breath.

"A few weeks ago he took his father's hunting gun and shot himself in the head. He did this the day after you updated your book. That's why I went from liking it to hating it."

"I sorry." I finally say.

"I just feel so guilty." He mutters.

"It's not your fault." I say. "You know that right?"

He shakes his head.

"His note, it was addressed to me, and it said how he couldn't cope losing his only friend." Hugo says, and I could see tears in his eyes.

I pull him into a hug.

"It's be okay."
