"Oh My God, he's Jojo's Dad... Awkward!" Ida screeched at full volume over their third glass of wine.
Lex flushed crimson as she laughed "That's not even the half of it, the things I told her about him"
Ida's eyes widened in horror, her mouth framing a silent scream. Suddenly she positively howled with laughter throwing her head back so far that she overbalanced, sliding sideways out of her seat and landing with a thump on the floor, where she continued to cry in hysterics.
"I'm not feeling an overabundance of sympathy here sis" Lex shook with laughter, at the sight of her sister on her hands and knees trying to crawl back up into her chair.
On arrival an hour ago, Ida had dragged her straight into the pristine kitchen of her ultra-modern city apartment, thrust a glass of wine into her hands and demanded to know everything that had happened in the last two years.
Ida was in awe of her big sister, she'd never left Earth, let alone travelled into the furthest depths of the Alpha Quadrant on a star ship. The furthest she'd gone was to move from London to San Francisco the second she turned eighteen, just over four years ago.
Lex hadn't been back to Earth more than a handful of times since the Academy, so she hadn't even met Ida's fiancé Evan yet. She was thrilled to be getting to spend some quality time with her sister even if she was going to be torturing her with wedding prep.
Ida finally made it back onto her seat still chuckling "So is all of that true?"
Lex drained her glass, pouring herself another and topping up Ida's at the same time "Is all what true?"
"What you've told me about Leonard in your comms" she waggled her eyebrows at her sister suggestively.
Lex grinned "Every word"
Ida gaped "Wow, the man sounds like a stallion"
"He has his moments but he's also grumpy and irrational, far too prone to speaking in metaphors for my liking and thinks he always knows best" Lex griped, rolling her eyes.
Ida smirked at her "You always did like a man that took charge in every way"
Lex shrugged conceding "You may have a small point there"
"Sounds like you love him" Ida added.
"When did you get so mature baby sister?" Lex asked astonished at her astuteness.
Ida grinned "While you were off exploring the final frontier"
"You're right though, I do" she smiled into her wine. Lex was surprised to find she missed him already, having only left Georgia a few hours ago.
"You're thinking about him right now aren't you? I can tell by the soppy look on your face" Ida teased.
"Maybe" Lex scrunched up her nose, not liking how easy she was to read.
"It's the same look I get when I think about Evan" Ida admitted, making her sister feel slightly better.
"Speaking of, when is your fiancé getting home?" Lex asked, looking around as if he might materialise out of thin air.
Ida chuckled checking her watch "Any time now, he was going to stop and pick up provisions for this evening"
"Provisions?" Lex enquired.
Ida translated, pointing at their almost empty bottle "More wine"
"Do you think you and Leonard might get married some day?" she asked finishing her wine, and staring sadly at the empty glass.
