Something flashed through Yan Jin's eyes. She had to admit this girl was very smart. Though she was still young, after a few more years of training, she should be able to become some kind of special agent.

"You don't have to worry about that. Though the contract states that, if you're really sick, what can we do? The company wouldn't gamble with an artist's health; have you ever heard news of abuse about TMT?"

All she said was true, but Bai Suqing still felt that something was off. "But..."

Knock knock knock.

"Come in."

The door opened to reveal a woman who was dressed like a peacock. She stood at the entrance and the moment she laid eyes on Bai Suqing, her face filled with ridicule: "Yo, what's this?"

Yan Jin looked at her. "What do you need?"

"Oh I'm here to let you know that I'm going for that spot on Director Li's drama," she said, looking at Bai Suqing, her gaze full of provocation.

Bai Suqing had a stomach full of fire. The road was really narrow for enemies; damn this woman!

"Oh? Is that so..." Yan Jin glanced at Bai Suqing, the end of her sentence stretching out, as though she was considering this.

Bai Suqing noticed this and immediately became anxious. She said quickly, "Miss Yan, didn't you just promise to let me take that spot?"

Yan Jin looked at her, with difficulty written all over her face: "You're not a TMT artist yet. We don't usually let our own fertile water flow into others' fields."

Bai Suqing hurriedly signed the contract, then returning the provocative glance at that woman. "Now I'm one of TMT's artists."

"...Alright, the company will arrange an audition for you. Whether or not you can become famous depends on your own strength," Yan Jin said, taking the contract from her. The corner of her mouth twitched when she saw the name "Bai Suqing" at the top.

"You..." The woman at the entrance was so mad she stomped her foot. Bai Suqing was satisfied as she looked on. It was gratifying to see others suffer. Just wait – soon enough she would let Mu Rulan taste the same!

Bai Suqing took her copy of the contract and left the headquarters. Once she departed, the woman who had been standing at the entrance finally cleared her expression, closing the door to float enchantingly into the room.

"How was my performance?" The woman drew closer to Yan Jin, her tone playful.

"Not bad."

"Then is there anything for me?" The woman bent down, winding both her hands around Yan Jin's neck. She sat on Yan Jin's legs.

"What reward do you want?" Yan Jin said, taking hold of her small waist, the smile on her face growing.

The woman pouted. "It's been a while since you've accompanied me. I want to go to your place tonight."

Yan Jin hesitated and then nodded. "Alright."

The woman smiled brighter, planting a kiss on Yan Jin's lips, as her eyes filled with happiness.

......

Mother Lu had high hopes for Lu Zimeng. So he had no choice but to thicken his face and follow doggedly behind the two of them. In the end he managed to succeed in inviting Mu Rulan to the Lu Family for dinner.

Lu Zimeng let out a sigh of relief as he sat in the passenger seat, periodically taking a peek into the backseat.

Cold wind blew softly in through the gaps in the window. A few strands of Mu Rulan's long hair floated towards the man sitting beside her.

He stretched out his hand and grabbed the hair that kept tickling his face and as the silky hair slid through his fingers, he suddenly seemed like a child that had suddenly found a toy. He played with the hair in his hands.

Mu Rulan saw this and with a hint of helplessness in her gentle gaze, she said, "Mr. Mo."

"Mm?" answered the man, his tone light. He didn't raise his head but continued to play with her hair.

Mu Rulan laughed helplessly, but did not say anything to prevent him from playing with her hair.

Lu Zimeng blinked roundly, feeling his eyes were blinded by brightness.

What was even happening right now? Were these two dating? That was impossible, right? Mo Qianren had just told him that he suspected Mu Rulan to be a psycho killer! But if they weren't dating, why did their actions seem so intimate?

Mo Qianren, where did your mysophobia go?! Shouldn't you tear at the hair running over your face?! You're actually playing with it and running it through your fingers! Y-You...

"Mr. Lu, what's wrong?" Mu Rulan noticed that Lu Zimeng looked aggrieved as he watched them.

Lu Zimeng quickly regained his senses and shook his head. "Nothing, hehe..."

"You're lying again," Mu Rulan smiled.

Lu Zimeng felt very defeated. "Can you not sing along with your husband?" One Mo Qianren was already enough, but now there was Mu Rulan!

"Hm?" Mu Rulan blinked innocently, seeming to not understand what he meant.

Soon, they arrived before a three-story building.

"You've finally arrived! I was starting to believe you wouldn't come," Mother Lu said, smiling brightly.

"Aunt Lu," greeted Mu Rulan politely.

"Come in, come in! I have two dishes on the stove that are almost done."

Father Lu was sitting in the living room with a stern expression. He would occasionally take a glance at the door, but still his hands were busy with the newspaper, acting as though he was reading it.

When Mu Rulan finally came in, only then did Father Lu fold it away and cough. The moment he saw the warm smile on her face with her gentle call, "Uncle," he began to grin from ear to ear.

Mother Lu, holding a shovel, walked happily into the kitchen. Mu Rulan followed her to help. Mother Lu didn't send her away, instead turning back to watch Mu Rulan wash the vegetables as she cooked.

She turned down the fire to let the dish simmer, and glanced at Mu Rulan. "How long have Lan Lan and our Qianren known each other?"

Mu Rulan smiled. "It's been quite some time."

"What do you think of our Qianren?"

"Mr. Mo? Hm... Very good," she said after a second of deliberation. In her memories, Mo Qianren was indeed quite good.

He was handsome, his abilities outstanding, and his temperament excellent. It was obvious that his family background wasn't simple. He was also gentle and considerate; wasn't he an ideal lover?

Very good? The answer wasn't bad, but it was too general. Mother Lu wasn't satisfied and so asked further, "What about him?"

Mu Rulan found it odd. "Why are you asking me about this?"

"Aiya, just answer aunty!" Mother Lu really didn't have much patience.
