"Addison wake up it's moving day!" My mom yells.

I lazily sit up in my bed and take a look around my bare room. It's depressing seeing the room I grew up in so empty.

I get up & go to the bathroom to get ready. I look in the mirror & am greeted by my large brown eyes. I pick up my brush & begin to brush my long, thick, light brown hair that reaches my belly button.

Once I'm done I head down stairs where I see my brother Colton eating lucky charms out of the box since our bowls & silverware have already been packed. I grab the box from him & stuff a handful of the deliciousness in my mouth.

He whines "Heyyy get your own!" Then snatches it back. He's 17 but still acts like a 10 year old.

"Where's mom?" I ask.

He answers "Out front talking to the movers."

So I make my way out the front door & see my mom ordering the movers around. She turns to face me then tells me I need to bring my boxes downstairs.

So I go back up to my room and take all this in. It didn't feel like we were really leaving all of this behind until now. My friends, my life, my everything is going to disappear. I feel warm tears roll down my cheeks . I quickly wipe them away & pack up the rest of my things. I take the boxes outside, then sit on our front steps watching everything we own being shoved into a big truck. I wish time would stop & that everything would go back to how it was, but when I open them life keeps going. I know it sounds dramatic since we're just moving, but I've lived in this house my entire life & have had the same friends since kindergarten. I know this town like the back of my hand. But as they place the last of the boxes into the truck I know it's time to say goodbye.

I take one last look at our home then my mom, dad, Colton, & I crowd into our black Ford Escape. Now for the 4 hour drive to Mooresville, North Carolina from my hometown of Savannah, Georgia.
