Chapter 7

I rush into the house to find my mom on the ground with blood streaming down her face. Broken shards of glass surrounding her body.

I freeze & I'm as stiff as a board. I look up to my dad who's standing there with a blank expression, he clearly had done it. I scream at the top of my lungs & kneel down next to her.

Seconds later Colton sprints down the stairs with the look of pure shock in his bright green eyes. He runs to the phone & dials 911, then walks over to my dad. Suddenly he bursts out "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" shoving my dad backwards, he stumbles back almost falling. Their fight is interrupted by the sound of ear piercing sirens blaring down our street.

Next thing I know cops are barging through our front door. Everything else is a blur. My dads in handcuffs, my mom on a stretcher, & Colton follows by my moms side.

All I can do is sit there. Close my eyes. This isn't happening. This isn't real. But when I open them I'm still facing this terrible nightmare. That's all I remember.

I wake up to faint beeping of a monitors, I look down and see an iv in my left arm. I scan the room & come across those eyes I'm getting attached to, sitting in a chair next to my bed is Nash.

"You're awake!" He says cheerfully.

"Are you okay?" He asks seeming more concerned now.

"I-Im fine just confused I guess.."I stutter.

He looks down like he doesn't want to explain what happened but finally answers "Do you want me to tell you what's going on?"

I replied with a soft "yes."

He takes a deep breath then begins "Well your dad threw a vase at your moms head, then he got arrested & your moms a few rooms down. Colton's in there with her right now he's been alternating between the two of you. But shortly after the cops came you fainted. They wanted to make sure everything was okay so they hooked you up to some fluids. When I heard the sirens I sprinted across the street to see if you were alright, then I saw you being placed in the ambulance with your mom I ran over to Colton and I asked him what was going on & explained that we were friends so he explained it to me.I had to be here with you."

I lay my head back & stare at the ceiling, then finally get the words "Is she okay?" Out but they're barley recognizable.

"I think so, they gave her stitches but aren't sure if there's anything major yet they have to do a brain scan later today, But everything's going to be fine I promise." He says staring straight into my eyes.

I feel warm tears rushing down my face. He engulfs me into a big hug & whispers "Ill always be here for you."

I whisper back "Thanks Nash." & give a half smile.

*Nash's POV*

It hurts me so much seeing Addi in so much pain. The worst part is there isn't much I can do to make it better. I really care about her a lot.. I feel like I've known her my entire life. I just pray everything does turn out fine like I promised.
