Finally there wedding day was here, Gumball was going to be married to Bubblegum and they would be King and Queen together. Gumball was in a small room tying his tie, looking at himself in the mirror. He sighed as he looked at himself, all by himself in this small room getting ready for his wedding alone. He imagined all the rude comments Marshal would be saying to him right now, and Fionna teasing him.
"It's time Prince Gumball." Peppermint Butler poked his head into the room.
"Alright." He adjusted his bow tie and followed Peppermint into the grand hall. He stood next to General Candy Corn who was to perform the wedding. A few minutes passed and Princess Bubblegum entered the room, wearing a strapless white dress with jewels that sparkled and swirled on her chest. The train of her dress was very very long, and her veil covered her beautiful face, and long flowing, pink curled hair. She was gorgeous with her candy bouquet.
As she got closer something grew in the pit of Gumball's stomach, but what was it. She was now in front of him and he had to force a smile as he looked at her. Then General Candy Corn started the ceremony. Finally it hit Gumball as they were repeating their vows.
"I can't do this." He sighed loudly as if he had been fighting to get those words out all day.
"What, why not?" She said in shock.
"Look princess," he held her hands," I love you, but we both know we can't do this." Gumball explained. He kissed Bubblegum on the cheek and walked out of the Candy Kingdom, then he heard a loud tear. He looked up and saw the sky ripping open, and the colour seemed to be sucked out of everything nothin was no longer happy. Gumball ran as fast as he could to the cave and he soon as he got to the portal he froze.
