The unexpected happened

Hopes POV

The three weeks of freedom are officially over.
Schools back!

We are now getting off the bus. We step out  and it's quiet.
Strange.
It's dead silent. Usually the primary kids would greet us loudly, but it's quiet. Too quiet.
I give Dr. Saltzman a knowingly look.

Caroline and Alaric walk in front of us students.
"Jo, Caroline stay out here with the kids," Alaric says as he points to Cleo and I. "You two come with me."
"Be safe." Jo says to Alaric. He smiles in return.
Cleo starts walking in following Alaric.
I start walking, but Josie starts to walk with me.

"What are you doing?" I ask Josie.
"I'm coming with you guys. I'm not staying out here." Josie says.
"You're safer out here than in there. We don't know why it's so quiet and I'm not risking you getting hurt." I tell Josie.

"Neither am I. I'm coming!" Josie says back.
I face palm myself.
"Fine." I mumble.
"Josie, Hope be safe." Lizzie says as she hugs the both of us.
We both start following behind Cleo and Dr. Saltzman.

We meet up with Alaric and Josie.
Alaric turns around to see us two.

"What are you doing in here?!" Alaric says as she stares at Josie and I in disbelief.
"She insisted on coming." I reply crossing my arms.
"Fine. Josie stay with Hope and Cleo, stick together." He says.

We all start walking and we see the gym place empty.
Dr. Saltzman peers into the doors and it seems to be empty, but it's locked. It must be spelled.
Dr. Saltzman nods towards Josie.
Josie steps towards the doors and her hands glows red, as she siphons the magic.

The doors unlocks and the magic disappears as we see Emma and all the other primary students.

They're all huddled in a circle, all holding hands. Emma must have been used a cloaking spell for them.

"Oh thank god! I thought you were the creature!" Emma sighs as she walked toward us, letting go of the kids.
"What happened here?" Dr. Saltzman questions in panic.
"We were doing fine after you left, but then a creature appeared," Emma explains. "We don't know what it is or what it wants, but Dorian's in the library researching!"
"You guys stay here. We'll go to the library." Alaric instructs Emma.

We all crept quietly to the library.
We enter the library to see Dorian hiding under a desk.
We rush over to him.

"What creature is it and where'd it come from?" Dr. Saltzman says with no warning.
Dorian gasps and he lets out a breath.
"Way to warn a guy 'Ric!" Dorian says.

Dr. Saltzman takes the book from Dorian's hands and looks at the book.

"It's a mythical creature from the 1400s," Dorian says. "It feeds on human meat."
"It's fangs and claws are sharp and one sting from it's scorpion tail it'll kill you." Dorian adds.

"Fatal and scary big. Cool, cool, cool."
Cleo reassures herself.

"Well how do we kill it?" Josie asks.
"Well it says it's weaknesses are ice, fire and sand." Dorian says.
"So massive natural disaster?, got it." Dr. Saltzman says standing up.

Dr. Saltzman then pulls me aside and he asks me, "Do you think it's from Malivore?"
"N-no that's impossible." I say, furrowing my brows.
"You sure it's impossible Hope?" He says.
Dr. Saltzman then heads for the doors.
