Hope's POV

"W-wait, how do you know it's name?" Dr. Saltzman asks Josie.
"There was whispers and they kept getting louder until I heard what they were saying." Josie tells us.
"There were whispers in my dream too." I say, rubbing Josie's shoulder in comfort.

"We'll leave you two to rest and try not to fall back asleep", Aunt Freya says. "We'll gather research on Psi."
"But I want to help." I say. The adults give me a stern look.
"Fine, we'll stay."

We bid our goodbyes and everyone leaves the room— leaving Jo and I.

I scoot closer to Josie and I place an arm around her.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, but I regret it after thinking about how stupid it sounded.
But Josie, sweet sweet Josie replies.
"Okay."

A short silence was brought upon us until Josie spoke again.
"It j-just felt so real and I don't want it to be real." She says, sucking in a breath to prevent herself from crying again.
"What happened?" I ask in a gentle tone.
She looks me in the eye before turning back to face the wall.

"You don't have to tell me, Jo." I say, kissing her temple.
She shakes her head.
"Um.. you were in it a-and Lizzie." She starts.
Tears begin to well in her eyes and so, I pulled her in closer.

"You were dead and I couldn't do anything", She chokes out. "Lizzie was being killed and I-I couldn't do anything."
"It was just a dream and more importantly it wasn't your fault." I reassure her.

"But it was." She sighs, making me confused.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I... I killed you both." She says. I was taken aback.
"The dark side of me", She continues. "The side that stays locked away."
"You're not dark, Jo." I tell her.
"But a part of me is." She counters.

"Just like Kai."

"Don't think like that. You're nothing like Kai and you know it." I tell her.
She turns back to me with teary eyes. "I don't want to be a killer."
She hiccups and begins to sob.

Seeing her cry made me want to cry.
I put both arms around her completely and I hold her.
Her body shakes as she sobs into my shoulder.

I softly rub her back, up and down.
"Let it out, Jo", I whisper to her. "It's okay."

After staying a bit in the room and waiting for Josie to calm down, we left and went to check up on the adults.

"From what we've gathered", Elijah starts. "Psi is a meta who is a powerful psychic."
"She targets people and she uses her abilities to make people have fear or panic episodes." Aunt Freya adds.

"How does she do it?" Josie asks.
"She sends like mind waves or she can just look you in the eye." Mum says.
"She is very dangerous", Davina says. "she can force you into a daze, which can have permanent damage, like death."

Shivers were sent down my spine.

"H-how do we defeat her?" I ask.
"There's no information, but we might as well kill her." Dad says.
"We're not killing Psi." Dr. Saltzman says.
"So you want to let the monster who attacked our daughters to be alive and well?" Dad says a little angered.
"I didn't say we were going to let her loose." Dr. Saltzman says, riling up my dad.

"I will kill her", Dad says seriously. "Your silly morals are nothing to me."

The two begin to have a stare down, but we're all fast to stop it.
