NICOLE GIBBS knew the world wasn't going to stop spinning... time wasn't going to pause for her for a single second and she refused to get pushed under the waves.
So, Derry became a thing of the past. It was history... a myth... then she couldn't even remember the place ever existing. Her past was a glittery haze, the scars on her hand being stories she could never tell-- even if she tried. Nic forgot all about them-- all of them.
Her life took off in California, land of dreams. She was young, cute and had a knack for pretending be someone she wasn't. A month after she had moved to California with her father and step-sister, Nicole landed a child role in a movie. That was her last call back to the Losers before she completely forgot... everything. All eight of them forgot.
Except, she hadn't completely forgotten everything. One name glows against her closed eyelids, echoes in her head when the silence becomes unbearable. One oh-so-familiar name.
Twenty-seven years blink by and, suddenly, Nicole finds herself paling just a few feet away from the velvety red carpet, clutching an phone to her ear as people cheer her name. She's summoned back to the tiny town across the country, diving right into that glittery haze of her past.
