Also FYI, mentions of Shen's and Zed's lore are present. I recommend you read their lore before diving into this story just so you understand what the hell is going on XD anyways, enjoy~

You looked in the mirror as you put your mask on. You adjusted it a bit before deciding that it was acceptable. You turned and your face heated up a little as you saw Shen knocking on your window. You took a breath and opened he windowsill.

"Greetings, (Y/N)."

"Hey. What do you need, Shen?" You nervously asked, rubbing your arms as he climbed from the window into your room.

Shen looked down, as if he was debating about something. About him, you, and Zed. He understood that you all were great childhood friends before, given that all three of you were pupils of Great Master Kusho of the Kinkou Order. However, even after Shen and Zed split, you remained loyal and neutral to both of them, as a friend of course, for you weren't apart of either of their organizations.

However, you were unaware of their current feelings for you.

"Shen."

Your voice seemed to shake him out of his thoughts.

"You alright?"

He slowly nodded. Then, unexpectedly, he gently took your hand and held it with both of his. Your eyes widened at his peculiar and out-of-character actions.

"Don't take this the wrong way," he mumbled, "I just don't understand how you still.. trust.. him."

You sighed. "I know. I understand both of your point of views, your grief... But what was it that you needed?"

"..Meet me on the cliff. Tonight. I am about to take part on the most dangerous battle yet. I need to exchange important words with you."

You frowned as he let go of your hands. "Alright." You murmured, "Be safe."

He nodded, lifted up his mask, and gently kissed your cheek. Then he leaped (yeeted) out of the window, leaving you completely flustered.

"Huh, thought he'd never leave."

You gasped and held your chest when you heard Zed's voice from behind you.

"For the love of Ionia can you guys please use the door??" You sighed.

"Well, he is a ninja, and I am the shadows."

"Yeah yeah but could you try not to give me an early death?"

"I will try."

"Good."

"But, that aside, (Y/N), I believe it is best for one to exchange words immediately and get straight to the point." Zed's sigh echoed throughout his helmet.

"I'm listening.." you scratched the back of your neck.

"(Y/N), it appears that we both have developed unexpected feelings for you."

You blinked.
What?

"As in?"

"As in we want you as more than a... friend."

Sweet Jesus

"I.. see?"

"What do you think of it?"

Your mind was blank. You felt nothing but embarrassment.

"I-I am not sure..." you averted your eyes from Zed's gaze, "I am fond of you both equally.. that is the problem."

Zed stared at you for a while, but nodded. "Understood. If it comes to pass that you choose that ninja over me, I hold no grudge against you."

With that he slightly lifted his helmet, also swiftly lifted yours, and planted a quick kiss on your lips. And just like that, he was gone.

You slowly leaned against the wall, your mask still lifted, and clutched your chest because your heart was going ape shit.
