"Garen.... Uhm... ... I can't do this." You clutched the flowers tightly and cringed, shutting your eyes.

"H-Huh?.." Garen's voice seemed to have a pang of hurt, "Whatever do you mean?.."

"I... thank you, Garen, I'm flattered." You opened your eyes again and took in a shaky breath. You handed the flowers back to him.

"I'm sorry. I... don't feel the same."

"Wait, (Y/N)!—"

You turned on your heels and ran away, back towards the gate. Where you were earlier this morning.

Your pace only grew faster as you heard Garen's voice, "Guards, after her!"

You huffed as you ran through the forest, pushing away low branches and crunching the broken ones under your fleeting feet. You gasped and panted as you heard voices behind you, which only caused you to run faster, and your heart was pounding so loud that you could hear it.

You then spotted a plain field with these boulders on top of them. You took a sharp turn and fled to boulders, but as soon as you knew you lost the sight of your pursuers, you turned back to the forest. You ran to the spot where you'd usually meet Darius.

Anxiously, without thinking, you called out,

"Darius!!!"

Suddenly, you harshly tripped on a thick tree root, and landed on the grassy, forest floor with a loud thump. Pain quickly seemed to swell up your ankle, and you cursed yourself as you pulled it close to you. You rubbed it, as a sort of comfort.

"I'm so stupid..." you choked up, "I am not thinking correctly... I should've just left and got my stuff... I should've been more careful.... why would I think he would be around??" You held your head in defeat as you hissed in pain, "I want..." you paused as you looked up at the bright sky, "I want him to be here..."

"Oh Noxus, I hope you don't mean that pompous bastard wearing a crown and a sword."

You turned towards the voice, and tears of relief left your eyes when you saw the man you just wanted to see.

"U-Uhm..." you snapped back to reality as you heard the voices again. "I kinda sorta maybe am running away from home and I wanna live with you now."

You goofily smiled at him as he stared blankly down at you.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me."

"Pls help."

He sighed as he suddenly swept you up, carrying you bridal style. You giggled as you wrapped your arms around his neck. "Thanks."

Darius tsked as he carried you with one arm and held up his axe with his other arm. When the guards finally came into view, Darius leaned his head close to your ear, and whispered, "Close your eyes."

You quietly gasped, but closed your eyes as the footsteps came closer. With a little clink, you heard Darius pick up his axe, and a cool breeze swept by you, and for whatever reason, the battle cries of the guards were quickly hushed. You then felt Darius turn and started walking away.

"You can open your eyes now." Darius gently sighed.

"Uhm," your eyes fluttered open, "What— What just happened to them?.."

When you attempted to peer over his shoulder, Darius quickly but gently held your chin away from the crime scene.

"I... did not want you to see anything.." Darius murmured, his gaze softly landing on your own.

You smiled softly. "Oh, ok. I did ask anyway so... thank you, Darius."

You leaned up to lightly peck him on the cheek, and felt him flinch slightly as you quickly retreated down, flustered.

Unfortunately, that made Darius slow his pace and eventually stop.

You looked back up at him again, "U-Uhm.. what is the matter? I-I'm sorry if I—"

You were quickly shut up as you felt a rough pair of lips briefly touch your forehead.

"Would it be wrong of me to say that I am glad you asked?"
