Ayy fluff to start off the year

"Yone, where are you taking me?" You chuckled as he guided you through the forest, holding your hand. His head turned to you with a soft smile, "You shall see, love." His hand tightened around you as the forest's light began to dim. You nervously looked around you as it grew darker, and eventually the farthest you could see was the man in front of you. You've never been to the darker parts of the forest. "Yone?"

Suddenly, you heard rustling in some bushes. Your hand tightened onto Yone's and you eventually ended up clinging onto his whole arm. You heard him chuckle. "What's wrong?"

"Oh follow me, my love," you mocked in a deep voice, "Allow me to lead you into the most dangerous parts of this forest. To your unknown doom." You heard him laugh this time. "Please, be patient a little longer. Just stick close to me."

The last part sent shivers down your spine as you closed your eyes, clinging onto him and praying that you'd be there soon. You continued to hear weird wails which was probably the wind until your lover finally led you to a small clearing. Your eyes squinted, attempting to adjust to the dim almost nonexistent lighting. When you realized your lover's long silence, your hand tightened. "Yone?" You whispered, hesitant to break the silence. All you got in response was the familiar sound of those wails.

He finally turned to you with a soft smile adorning his face, "Do not fret. You are safe." You slightly glared at him in doubt, but only clung to him more. Yone sat against one of the trees. He took your hand he was holding and lowered you into his lap. You felt him rest your head against his chest. "Better?"

You sunk into his warmth, "..What was it that you meant to show me?" His arms moved to cage you. "This part of the forest, of course," Yone chuckled. You pouted, "You wanted to scare me?" Yone sighed, "No. Of course, it may not have the best lighting. But.. it's peaceful, isn't it?"

"Mm," you grumbled, clutching onto his arms, "As each second passes by, I feel like something creepy will just jump out at me." When you hear the sound of rustling, you gasped and your eyes frantically darted around, trying to find the source. "Relax." Yone rubbed your arm and used his free hand to softly push your head into his chest, "Even if something did try to harm you, you know that I am here." You closed your eyes and took a breath. You felt him lean to press a light kiss on the top of your head, "It would be over before you could even see it."

You chuckled at his confidence, your hand grasping his white strands, "Alright."

Yone huffed, "I'm not lying. Besides, you've been busy lately. Nowadays we rarely spend time together...."

Your eyes widened and you looked up at him, "Wait, you didn't lead me here just to get me all to yourself... did you?" Yone averted his gaze, "Well, I.. wouldn't put it like that."

"You know if you wanted to cuddle, you could've just asked."

A slight blush tapped onto his cheeks, "That would be inappropriate of me."

You clicked your tongue, "Then is scaring me really this necessary?"

"..."

"..."

"You do have a point."
