Amelia Sharpe gripped the steering wheel as the ground around the vehicle shook from a small earthquake. In the backseat, her two traveling companions gripped the seats in front of them. This was the third tremor they had experienced in the last twenty-four hours.

"This one feels longer than the ones from earlier this week..." The brunette behind her yelped as her face planted into the back of Amelia's seat as the tremors eased up and eventually stopped.

Amelia looked back at her in the rearview mirror. "Robin? You alright?"

Robin Creighton leaned back in her seat and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "Yes. But I wish those darn tremors would stop ruining everything." She turned her head to glance at the orange furred fox in the seat next to her who had his paw on his head. "You okay over there Kolby?"

Kolby Summers raised his other paw to give her a thumbs up."I swear if we have to go through another one of those, I am legally changing my name to Kevin Bacon."

Robin whacked him on the arm. "A simple yes would have sufficed. Lance would kill me if anything happened to you."

Kolby yelped. "I can take care of myself. My sister doesn't need you to keep checking on me. I don't keep asking if you're okay because I know Robby knows you're a big girl. Or at least you have the appearance of one."

Robin laughed, "Says the kit who laughs every time he counts to seventy."

Both of them started to laugh, but they stifled it as Kolby tried to give her an angry glare. "Jerk."

"B****" Robin couldn't keep from laughing and they both started to laugh again.

Amelia let out a long beep from the horn causing the other two to jump. "I swear if I hear one more pop culture reference from either of you..." The other two gasped accusingly. "Oh shut up. I don't count." She got out of the car and looked down at her sleeve monitor. She gave it a tap and readouts started to appear on the screen. "Looks like we made it to where this signal is coming from." She hit it a few more times and groaned as the others emerged from the car. "I can't seem to get a fix on where exactly."

Kolby studied his readouts and looked around. "It looks like it is somewhere on this block." The block had probably been abandoned for at least a year. There were only three buildings still standing on the street, as others were just piles of sharp rubble. Cars littered the streets and piles of ash littered the ground. On one side of the street, there was a thrift store, a music store and a fenced-in area where a cell tower stood. And on the other side, was an old movie theater. There was weather damage on the theater sign and there were signs of fire damage where the cell tower was.

"Any idea what exactly we are looking for?" Robin pulled out her pistol and looked at the buildings that surrounded them.

Amelia looked between the three buildings. "Well..." She looked at her two friends. "You guys go ahead and pick a building. Keep your communications open." She tapped her wrist, turning on her communicator. "If something goes wrong, yell."

Robin put her hands up. "Um. No. Splitting up is never a good idea. You know that raiders work in groups. If they get even one of us alone..."

Kolby interrupted her. "Guys. We need to get inside. The radiation levels are getting dangerously high."

Amelia looked form Kolby to Robin. "Both of you pick a building. I'll take the one that's left okay."

Kolby looked at Robin. "I call dibs on the thrift store."

"No fair!" Robin crossed her arms as Kolby retreated to the thrift store. "I guess I'll take the movie theater..." She quickly walked into the shade under the awning and turned to look back at Amelia who made her way to the music store.

Amelia spoke into her arm, "Just look around see if you can find anything useful. If you see something that seems like it could be important or dangerous. Let us know first."

As she walked inside, she rolled her eyes when she heard Robin's voice. "I got a bad feeling about this."

"Shut up." She waited until she got into the store and let herself let out a small giggle.
