Detective Corbin Gray and his newfound companion in chains, Kamryn Scott, were in a bit of a pinch... Their respective supply groups had been ambushed during a trade and the attackers killed most of the others while they tried to defend themselves and the supplies they carried. The few left got captured. But only he and Kamryn were brought here. Of course, they didn't have time to figure out where "here" exactly was, as they were pushed into a cozy-looking room by a tall Border Collie, the leader of the ambushing soldiers. He pushed them to their knees by kicking the back of their legs. Corbin hissed as his knees hit the floor.
"I see you've brought me some new friends."
Corbin looked up and around, trying to get a glimpse of the speaker.
Off to their left was a sitting area with comfortable-looking chairs, a coffee table and a bookshelf with a miscellaneous selection of books on it. And to the right, was a small kitchen area complete with anything you'd expect to find in a kitchen. And straight ahead of them was a bar, and standing right in front of the bar was a blue canine mixing himself a drink with his back to them.
The collie walked around them and went to stand next to the other canine. "Yes, sir."
The blue one turned around and took a sip of his drink, narrowing his eyes as he gave both of them a once over. "Benji..." He turned to the dog and raised his eyebrows. "I feel like there is something wrong with this picture."
"Sir?"
The dog glared at the collie after taking another sip from his glass. "Handcuffs Benji..."
Benji looked down. "Yes, sir."
Corbin studied the blue... Was he a dog? A wolf? What the heck was this guy? He seemed to be the one in charge, but how? He looked soft... Like he wouldn't be much of a problem to take down.
As Benji came over to unlock the cuffs, Corbin lashed out using his legs to kick him down before he could go for his gun. But before Corbin could take his captor's gun, he heard a click and an angry hiss from behind him. Benji glared up at him as a gentle paw rubbed his shoulder and back.
"Listen, big guy..." Corbin felt a gun poke his back. "I am not here to shoot you. But if you are going to be difficult? I will not hesitate to shoot you."
Corbin's paw rested on Benji's gun. Corbin knew that the canine was probably bluffing and started to rise, gun in paw. But as he was turning toward the blue dog, he heard a gunshot go off and collapse as his leg started to bleed.
"GAH! F*****G SH*T" He grabbed his leg with a yowl.
"That was on you big guy..." The blue dog shrugged and downed the rest of his drink. He put the glass down on the bar and picked up Benji's gun off the floor and helped the soldier up.
Benji collected himself and took his gun back, looking a little anxious as the blue dog put his paws on his hips. "S-Sir?"
The canine let go and waved the handcuff keys in front of Benji's face. "Relax, you weirdo. I know my boundaries." He turned to the other two and rolled his eyes at Corbin's cussing. "Go ahead and call the doctor."
"Of course, Tekky." Benji turned to leave.
"And Benji?" He smiled as the dog turned back. "Please, can you bring the others here. Boss wanted all of them in the same place."
Benji saluted and turned to leave the room.
Tekky turned around to the others. "Okay babes." He pressed his paws together. "Let's get you out of those cuffs." He knelt behind Kamryn and started to unlock her, but then stopped to look at her collar ."Oh! A super-powered friend?"
