"She's awake! She's awake call Anna!"

My eyelids fluttered. The first thing I sensed. I wasn't alone and I'm moving? The back of my head ached and was mildly throbbing. "Thank heavens! She's awake" "Do you think there's damage?" someone whispered. Confusion started to settle as I tried to muster the courage to open my eyes wide enough to see where I was. All I sensed was everything seemed to rock around me. Finally I opened my eyes.

"What the hell is going on?" I said. I look around and find myself in a small tiny room. A window behind me. In that moment, I realized something unsettling. I was on a train with people who I did not know. I wasn't on campus. I'm alone hurt and something I haven't felt in so long.

Afraid.

To my left I see a metal bedpan with bloody gauze and scissors. In front of me two women, whispering in each other's ears. Nurses? That's what I figured from their uniform. One of them stands up, holding a syringe.

Oh hell no.

Determined not to be the next girl on a missing poster, I let the adrenaline  kick in. I quickly spring up from the bed and grab the scissors and point it at her. "Don't come any closer!" I said. In shock she holds up her hands. Her pupils narrowing and  sets the syringe aside about to speak she says "Princ-.." Suddenly my hand becomes enveloped by someone else's.

"Hey! It's okay you're okay. She's only trying to help you please sit." Turning to my right and I see those set of hauntingly beautiful gray eyes again. Without protest, I inhale and sit still holding my trusty pair of scissors. "Who are you?" I said.

"See here, last time I was going to answer your question but you passed out on me. Let's not make that a habit okay?" he asked.

Not responding directly. I nodded.

"My name is Tristan. Maybe it's best we talk alone? Can you walk?" he asked.

I nodded. He grabbed my hand again and I followed him out the room. We walked through a few train cars until we were alone. He found a pair of seats where we could talk in private.

The lighting was a lot better here, I could see him clearly. His were more vibrant a dark hue of grey mixed with a light blue like stormy clouds. His honey colored brown hair barely swooping over his forehead. His skin was almost sun-kissed bronze but more of an olive tone to it. He was gorgeous. Snap out of it. Jesus.

"I'm really sorry. I know you must be confused." He said. It wasn't until now I noticed his accent. English.

"Where am I? What's going on? What happened? Where's my family?" I started to panic but I knew I couldn't let anyone see me crack.

He wanted to grab my hand again, he stared and pulled his hand away as if to correct himself.

"Hey.. hey it's okay. Hell, I might not be the best person to explain this to you. Where's Anna when you need her?" he said under his breath.

I had to find a way off this train. My eyes scanning for the nearest exit. What next? You jump off the train? I think to myself. I need to play this safe. I need to play along at least till we reach ground. From what I saw the train was empty was it just us?

"Look. I know I've already introduced myself. You can trust me. No one here would ever harm you." He said.

Part of me wanted to trust him. I really did, it seemed like I was fighting that feeling. My guard being up most of my life made hard to trust anyone. I would say I'm pretty good at reading people. That gut feeling hasn't failed me yet. Reading people came naturally to me and it went hand and in hand with my bullshit meter, trust me it has not failed me yet. It's saved me from a lot of complicated guys in my life.

Right now, I couldn't make sense of what I was feeling. For once, I drew a blank and that scared me more than anything. Who was this guy? Where did he come from and what did he want with me?

"Why should I?" I said.

Placing his forearm across diagonally on his chest. He dipped his head in my direction.

"I've promised my father and your parents. I would always take care of you and watch over you." He said. Okay..not creepy at all.

"There's no way you know my parents! I've never seen you before! They don't care about me anyways why would they send you?" I spit out.

Confusion dawned on his face. Then the look of realization.

"What? No, Arcadia. Your real parents. I promised that to your real mother and father." He said

My stomach dropped and my heart sank into it subsequently.

My real parents?!
