Ice shot through my veins as my lips tried to form words to reply to her question. Blank. My mind couldn't think of anything.

"I mean like-."

"He's so bossy. He wouldn't even let me approach you." She said

"Well oh yeah that's Tristan. He's a good friend of my biological family. His dad worked security for my parents before they passed. At least that's what I was told." I quickly added

Her facial expression showed a bit of annoyance. She stood up and walked up to large window. Her fingers traced the frame as she spoke.

"Well as much as I'd like to get know England, we don't have time. Our flight leaves tomorrow morning, midterms coming up and -.."

"I'm sorry our flight? Oh. No, Ali that's...I'm sorry I can't go back, not now."

She turned around her lips pursed and I had noticed she had been balling a fist.

"What do you mean you can't go back now? We have midterms Arc. How hard did that car hit you?" she said waving her hand up and down insisting I must've had some head injury.

"Look Ali, I've just found my roots, my family at least what's left with it." I said with a minor crack. My chest started to tighten up.

"Dude look I get it ok. You can't just abandon your education. Stop kidding yourself Arc, medical school has been your dream for so long." She said

"I'm sorry Alissa. No. I'll have Henry drive you to the airport for your flight." I said and turned to leave.

"So that's it? You're just going to leave me behind? Now that you have your fancy cars, fancy rugs and paintings. Jesus Christ! You're delusional and selfish. I'm the one who's been by your side! I'm the one who.."

"Excuse me? I'm being selfish? IF YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT SINCE I TURNED UP IN THOSE WOODS, I'VE BEEN DYING TO FIND MY FAMILY. Now that I've found it, you get upset? Do you understand what this means to me? You're being selfish." I spat at her. My blood was boiling. What's wrong with her? Accusing me of being selfish when this is what I've been looking for all my life.

"You know what?" She grabs a small globe off the end table and launches it at the wall. The globe shatters upon impact. The remains fall onto the wood floor. I've never seen her this upset. Part of me a bit shaken up from the hurt in her words and another part angry for her lack of compassion.

Tristan quickly runs to my side. His eyes quickly scan my body looking for any injuries.

"Are you okay?" he asks me.

I didn't look at him. My eyes focused on Alissa. "Everything's fine. Alissa was just leaving."

"Keep it all Arc. Don't come to me when reality hits and your fantasy isn't what you've chalked it up to be. Have fun." She said storming off.

Tristan grabs my hands extending my arm, again looking for any cuts. "Did she harm you? Touch you?"

I loosen myself from his grasp. Sighing deeply, the tight feeling in my chest still bothering me. "I'm fine."

He stares into my attentively.

"Are you okay?" he asks me.

The corner of my lip began to quiver and my chest started to tighten up. Anxiety raising, I quickly took a deep breath. I sat in one of the armchairs. Tristan by my side waited for my answer.

I hid my face in my hands and let out a frustrated groan. "I just don't understand why she's so upset. She's supposed to be my best friend."

Tristan lowered himself onto his knees. "Hey. It's alright try not to overthink it."

"Yeah I guess."

He tried to distract me for the remainder of day. We walked throughout the garden, sharing more of our lives with each other. He did a good job, my heart began to beat faster as I hung to every word that left his lips. We sat down on a bench in front of a small water fountain. Small birds bathed in the deep bowl of the large fountain.

"Thank you" I said with a small smile.

"Anytime Princess" he said.

We sat there until the sun set and the staff alerted us dinner was ready.

We walked into the dining room. Where Ana was waiting. She stood up and slightly curtsy.

"Princess. I'm sorry for not being able to meet with you. I've just finished adjourning with a few members of the order. I'm afraid I don't have good news." She said.
