Stepping out onto the cobblestone road, I'm greeted by such architectural beauty. We had stopped right in front of a grand palacelike manor home. It was built with large slate grey stones that had become smoothed by the years of rain and weather. The manor was enormous, it towered us completely and had stretched out widely across the estate, having two wings from what I saw on the outside. Windows both large and small provided a small peak on what the manor offered inside. A set of massive espresso colored French style doors stood out front beckoning those who stand outside, tempting and intimidating at the same time of what may await inside.

The estate had a huge maze-like garden with multiple fountains, that provided a variety of color and beauty to the home. It was absolutely breathtaking and nothing like I have ever seen before. The estate sat on what seemed to be hundreds of acres of land, it was in a remote area and no neighbors to be seen for miles. England's beautiful countryside gave it the most serene location.

"Jesus, this is wow. Gorgeous" I said

"This is your home Princess. We've been waiting for you to arrive for a while now." Henry had said while opening the massive entrance doors.

I didn't think that it could get more beautiful, but it did. The inside of the manor depicted almost the inside of a palace, the huge floor to ceiling windows offering a slice of the outside world and lined with heavy red drapes.

"Essentially, this estate sits on what used to be Camelot. The order purchased it soon after arriving it into this century. Naturally, we've designed it to look like home. You could say we were a bit homesick." She winked at me.

Walking up the set of stairs, I was greeted massive oil painting of two people. A man in brilliant silver armor wearing a gold jewel encrusted crown behind him a massive dark mahogany throne chain. His jaw was slightly squared, he looked young. He had blonde-golden hair, fair like skin and bright azure colored eyes like mine. His demeanor showing confidence, he stood tall and straight. Next to him a woman with a petite frame who exuded radiant natural beauty. She had long flowy caramel colored hair that passed her shoulders. On top of head she wore a gorgeous but almost simplistic crown, also encrusted in rubies, diamonds and sapphires. The man next to her had emeralds, diamonds and sapphires in his crown. This woman had a light medium complexion that complimented her caramel colored locks. We looked almost very similar apart for me having my father's eyes. Without a doubt these were my parents, my real parents. Sadness set in, as I saw in front of me two people who I've looked for my whole life but were so far away centuries back. I didn't know what was worse, knowing I was born centuries ago and might never being able to see my parents or finding out there are people who are after me.

Anna sets her hand on my shoulder. "You look so much like your mother you know? Almost identical, although you do relate a lot to your father as well. His courage, wit and love for others are just other things you share with him other than your eyes."

The sadness crept on me. So many words were forming at my lips, but what came out were just tears. I looked around. Tristan wasn't here. Instinctively, I hid my face into Anna's shoulder. She exhaled softly, petting the back of my head trying to comfort me.

"Come, let's speak in the library." She said.

I follow her, the saltiness of my tears stinging my cheeks. I've felt my eyes starting to puff up. I've cried so much today. I don't think I have any tears in me.

We sat down on a set of armchairs next to the huge window that overlooked the front garden.

"I know it must be hard to understand everything. Just know that your parents really did love you more than anything else." She said.

Sighing, a weight began to lift off of my shoulders. Holding in all this resentment and sadness had taken a toll on my soul and mental wellbeing. Portraying the image that I had it all together when I had nothing was tough. Finally getting answers was the relief I've been searching for so long.

"It may be best that I start at the beginning. The day you were born was the brightest and liveliest day in the kingdom. When your mother realized she was expecting and told your father he was overfilled with pride and joy. The kingdom was in a great state, the war was over and our crops and livestock were flourishing. Your mother's pregnancy was also a good sign for the future of Camelot. Finally, an heir was arriving. Your mother, like other mother's who were expecting would get worried. This was natural for her to feel as not too long ago Camelot almost collapsed as a result for the war. As her best friend and confidant, I did the best to ensure her she would be fine. Her last trimester of pregnancy she had a lot of nightmares, convinced she was experiencing premonitions of the future she made me swore no matter what I would stick by your side. So of course, I did. When you were born, kings and queens from neighboring kingdoms brought you so many gifts. Everyone wanted to get a glimpse of the Princess of Camelot. You brought life into the palace after a period of darkness and despair. You'd never leave your parents side. Everyone knew that there was a new heir to the throne of Camelot, and all were ecstatic apart from one man. Your cousin Sir Mordred. Furious because he was hopeful that he would one day acquire the throne. He did anything he could to ensure the Pendragon name and house would fail. Spreading rumors of infidelity of your mother and father and threatening to cause great harm to you. He swore tot take action to raid the kingdom and take his rightful place." She said.

Then it came to me. It started to piece altogether. "That's what you meant when you said malicious forces." I said

She nodded. "His anger and hatred grew and festered like a disease for years. Your cousin was enraged. He began to recruit mercenaries, druids and all who despised your family and kingdom and swore to attack around the winter's solstice. Worried for your safety and wellbeing, your parents made a decision most couldn't do. Send their child away. Frantic and worried they asked Merlin who was a good friend of your father's for help. Essentially, your father was at one point hidden by Merlin when he was young, so he agreed to help. Tristan was handpicked by your father. He wanted you to have someone from home your age to accompany you and protect you on your journey. Your mother chose me to watch and care for you as well like I promised. They agreed that they must send you to where you Mordred couldn't reach you, the future. To ensure you will age and be taken care of, Merlin sent us to the 21st century. He created a portal powered by the connection of our lockets. Although, when we passed through the time portal we were separated. I desperately searched for you for weeks until I heard the news of an abandoned six-year-old girl in Lakewood. That's where I saw you again, relieved I tried to gain custody, but I failed to meet the requirements as I was new to this century as well and couldn't prove what was needed. I was devastated. Since then, Tristan and I had watched over you. My biggest regret was not being prepared enough to raise you myself but had settled staying in the background. Whenever you moved or were transferred, we moved with you. We never lost sight of you again. Everything was quiet until yesterday. I fear Mordred's magic may have found you which is how the accident from yesterday was no accident. It was a direct attack. You may have not noticed, but there was no driver. Which is why I had to bring you in. Merlin had made our lockets to keep us connected, your mother wears one as well. Now that our lockets have touched your mother will be aware and can prepare because it's time."

Confused as I'm trying to folow, I ask "Time for what Anna?"

She breaks away from looking at the garden and stares at me directly. "It's time for you to return home to Camelot."
