After hours of coughing, and mason laughing at me, I start to get hungry.

"I think I'm gonna head out, I'm so fucking hungry."

"I could join ya if you'd like? Well if you don't mind" he says shyly

"Not at all, come on" I say grabbing the new friend I've made outside of work.

We walk through the field, and to my car, slipping into the warmth of the seats. I plug my aux in, and let my music from before play, "Santeria" by sublime starts to play, and I can see mason tapping along to the beat of the song with his long fingers.

"You know this?" I say surprised.

"I love this song, I'm a fan of the oldies, but I listen to just about anything"

"Honestly same with me, I'm more a fan of rock, and alternative more then anything though"

"I could tell you had good taste just by looking at you, you have an old soul, far beyond your years it seems. How old are you by the way?"

"Im nineteen, going on twenty soon actually"

"Sheesh I remember when I was that young, I'm nearly 30, you be but a baby"

"Nearly? How old are you?"

"I'm twenty-six hun, I'm old"

"You're only ahead of me by a few years"

"Not a few, seven whole years" he says smugly

"You're not old" I say laughing.

"Okay, now drive so we can get food before the shops clothes, it's getting really late" he says laughing, it's very contagious.  I like this kid, i feel like we can be friends with no complications.

How long have we been here?  It was day time when I left SNL, and it's pitch black now so, I assume it's late, but how late?

"Hey mason, do you happen to know what time it is?"

"Almost two a.m."

"The only place open is McDonald's" I sat with a frown.

"So lets get that, it's cheap at least"

"Yeah I guess you're right"

I put my car in drive, and begin my journey to the dreaded fast food place, I haven't been to a McDonald's in years, and I'm perfectly fine with that. My uncle fed us that all the time so, it's become something I now hate, not because its gross, the foods actually good, but it's just to familiar. We pull into the drive through, but mason wasn't having it so, I ended up being dragged up to the doors, but to my luck they're doors are closed, leaving only the drive-thru, after what feels like hours, but im sure was only minutes, we get out food. The car ride back was fun, we munched out pretty hard,  and jammed to oldies the entire time.

"Enjoying your food?" He says laughing at me slightly, patting the corner of his lips, what?

"What?"

"You have cheese dip on your mouth" he says sweetly as he moves to wipe it off.

"There you go" he says just looking at me with glossy red eyes, he's really high, and honestly so am I, and it's so nice. I  enjoyed it so much more then last time, but then again I don't have a pete to ruin it for me so, that could be why.

"You ready to go, it's really late?" Mason says yawning.

"Yeah, yeah hold up" I say packing away the rest of my food, and placing it in the bag.

"Ready"

He just looks at me and smiles, we end up driving in silence, but he hasn't really told me where to go.

"So where exactly do you want me to drop you off?"

"Anywhere really, I don't exactly have a steady place"

"Oh, you're uhm, you're homeless?"

"No, I just don't happen to like the people I share a home with so, I spend my night's wandering around, finding places to fill the void."

"That's some deep shit man, I'm sorry" did I really just respond like that.

"You're a trip" he says smiling, I like his smile.

"You could come to my house, I have a spare room now"

"You wouldn't mind?"

"Not really, I'm kinda by myself there so, it'd be nice to have someone around to keep my mind off things, if you want you can crash there until you feel like you want to go home" I say not really sure what I'm doing, did I just offer this kid a place to stay? I mean yeah he's nice and all, but I really don't know him.

"Really?" He says just as shocked as me, if not more.

"Yeah, I could honestly use the company, shits been rough lately, and you actually kind of helped me get my mind off of it today so, yeah you can crash with me." I say making my mind up, he really is a cool kid from what I can tell, and he really did help with how i was feeling the last few days.

"That'd be great! That's actually really nice of you, but you should be careful who you let in your house, I could easily murder you" he says as he laughs.

"Are you?"

"Am I what?"

"Gonna murder me?"

"Maybe, I haven't decided yet"

With that the rest of the drive is peaceful, and filled with mindless conversations, and random laughter. He's really good company, and in just a few hours, he grew on me. When we get to my house, he gets out and just stands there.

"What?"

"Your house is pretty big, you sure it's just you?"

"Okay are you actually gonna murder me?"

"Yeah that's the plan" he says walking closer, what the fuck? I flinch as he lifts his hand up, but open them when I realize he was grabbing his drink off the roof of the car.

"What the hell? Why'd you flinch?"

"I'm really high, and you just said you were gonna murder me after asking if I was really the only one who lived here, I got scared" I laugh as I choke the words out.

"What? That's bizarre reasoning, but okay" he says laughing at me slightly

"Do you have anymore pot?"

"Always, but I thought you never really smoke."

"So? Doesn't mean I can't now"

"True, I suppose I could give you some green"

"How much would forty dollars get me?"

"Sweety, a lady like you should never have to pay for weed" he says laughing, and with that he hands me a bag, and walks towards the house stopping at the stair so I could let him in. I open the door and lead him to the guest room, leaving him to sleep as I walk to mine. I stare down at the baggy in my hand, and begin to open it up, packing it into the Bong I borrowed from mason while he was asleep. I spark it up, and pull the smoke up, exhaling it after holding it in for a while. So, I guess I smoke.....
