After the conversation I had with my mother on the phone, I decided to see if pete felt up to hanging out, it's a really nice day out, and I want to explore a little more. I remeber I don't have his number so, I go to the only place I know he could be. Making the drive to my newly founded place of work, I do as always, and play my usual playlist of old 2000s pop punk, blaring "I miss you" by blink-182. Singing along to the chorus, I pull into the parking lot on the side of the building, lowering my music as I park. As I'm getting out, I notice Pete's car. The lights are on, but I don't see anyone, does he know his car's on? I walk up to it, and it's filled with smoke, what is this boy doing? I tap lightly on the window, startling him a bit before he rolls the window down just a tad.

"What're you doing here? You don't work today..." Pete says with sunken, seemingly closed, blazing red eyes, and I can see smoke leaking from the small crack he made by opening the window.

"I don't, I was coming to see if you felt up to hanging out with me, I really wanted to find something to explore today" I say with a hint of excitement for what's to come of today, even though I have the slightest idea of whats gonna happen.

"Uhm, I had a few things to do today, but I guess they could wait." Pete says almost rushing the words, eager much?

"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude or distract you."

"Trust me, I wouldn't be mad if you did, I could honestly use it."

"Well then hop in, and let's go do some adolescent bullshit we'll probably regret tomorrow." I say feeling more up to it then he seems, his mood changes quickly.

"Okay, well for starters, I'm driving, and we're taking my car so, why don't you go ahead and hop in" he says cockily.

"I'm not getting in with all that smoke."

"Fine, but I choose the music" he practically demands.

"How about we alternate?"

"Yeah, fine, but I call first song."

"You're a child, you know this right?" I say in mock annoyance.

"Does that make you my mommy? Or are you just some creepy lady who's taken me hostage? I DON'T WANT ANY OF THOSE DRY ASS WAFER COOKIES,, THEM BITCHES MAKE MY MOUTH DRY WHEN I TOOOOOKE UUUUUP"he shouts throughout my car, earning us a few looks from workers.

"Peter! Stop it, people are looking!" I shout almost as loud.

" okay never call me Peter, and half these people know me, and that means they know im an ass, they almost expect it." He says smiling that smile that's been intrapping my every thought. Choosing to ignore him, I plug my phone back into the aux, and play "be alright" by dean lewis. His music is just breath taking.

"This is really sappy you know? Do you only know sad music? And what happened to me playing the first song?" He rapidly ask me questions, like a small child on a long car ride.

"Do you ever stay silent, or is that something you're not capable of?"

"Sheesh, simmer down women, I'm just teasing you a little"

With that,  the rest of the ride is silent as we drive down a few busy streets, into a more scenic part of new york. I think we're in upstate, but it doesn't feel like we've driven that far. Sure enough I see a sign marked "cuba 1 1/2 miles" making us aware of our whereabouts, total eclipse of the heart starts playing, and I turn to pete because it's not on my playlist, and sure enough this man has a whole joint in his hand, belting this fucking song out with every hit he takes. We drive for another hour without an actual destination,  but once I reach Nyack I find this really cool spot on Google maps.
