I fucking loved school. I really did. But sometimes, you have to hate the things you love. Especially if your mum is home to throw you out of bed on the one day that a fucking tired school addict like me does not wish to go to school.

Slowly, I ambled towards one of the greatest friends I had in this school; my locker. Sighing, I clicked it open.

BOOM.

I landed with a thud on the ground. Automatically, I reached for my neck. Headphones intact. Good. Now who did this?

I didn't have to wait too long.

"Do you have plans on divorcing the floor in the near future?"

I looked up with a scowl that disappeared from my face as soon as it came. "Dice?"

He bowed. "Glad I'm remembered. Seriously, aren't you getting off the floor?"

Grinning, I stretched out my legs. "Look at me, very closely. Do I look like I have the strength to lift myself up?"

He stared at me for a moment, before mumbling something that sounded like I see why he liked you and holding out a hand to help me up. I grabbed his outstretched hand and pulled him down with me. "Now we're both married to the floor. Isn't that great?"

He sighed. "I thought you said you had no strength."

"Yeah, to lift myself up. To drag you down is a different story."

He hauled himself up. I followed suit, frowning when I noticed my reddening nose. "Why exactly did you put this fist in the box thing in my locker?"

He half smiled. "I wanted to surprise you. So I thought, what's the one thing Aura is always ready to deliver? A punch."

"So you decided to punch me, as a surprise. How smart." I frowned. "Wait. We haven't had a decent conversation in so long. Is there any exact reason you're here?"

His tone shifted. "Yes." He rummaged through his bag, producing a familiar blue coloured book and a matching beanie. "Max wanted me to give you this."

Slowly, as if it would tick off any moment, I reached out for it, wondering if my eyes were deceiving me. "It is my song book."

"That's what he said."

I stared at him and put the beanie on my head. "Thank you."

He raised a brow. "Am I the one you should be thanking?"

"Right." My eyes narrowed as I remembered something. "Do you like Jermaine? I don't. I honestly think he could do better."

Dice shuddered. "So do I."

I shook my head. "Your best friend has horrible taste in women."

He raised a brow. "I know. He dated you."

I whacked him on the head.

"Uh! Physics sucks! Who the hell sat down, thought about it and actually created such a subject?" Chris walked towards us, her eyes glued to her textbook. Dice tensed and I smiled. This was going to be fun. "Hey Aura I really don't understand Equilibrium ..." She looked up and I felt the awkwardness immediately.  "Uh hey Dice."

"Hey Chris."

Time for a little bit of catching up.

Before we started hanging out, Max Chester used to be this annoying guy who was always trying to talk to me. So did more than half the school at that time, so I put him under the category of people who wanted my attention because they wanted me to get Dad sign something for them. Category of people I hated. That changed when he caught me dancing behind bushes one day and he insisted on taking me to the dance school he was attending. From there, Mara happened. Or Aurax.  Or other fucking stupid ship names people came up with.
