As Azalea, Ashley and Vile are still stuck, a few drones start coming towards them. They start to fire at the enemy.
"Zed? Is that you?" Ashley asked as she was now free from the chain
"Yep. The one and only." Zed replied from the drones speakers. "Now get out of here quick." He said as he keeps firing at Rose and her team.
Rose tries to block most of the bullets but the firing is happening so continuously that she is unable to keep up. So she runs away along with her team to take cover. Meanwhile, Azalea, Ashley and Vile run back to the palace, as they figured that is where everyone would meet up.
At the same time
Lark is injured as he looks up in front to see more members of Ed's team come up and all are pointing their guns at him. Aster had just gotten kicked in the stomach, so she was trying to stand up.
"Finally. We have got you. You guys were showing too much resistance that it took time." Ed said
"What do you want?" Aster asked
"We want you. You are a portal opener. Although not an official one, but still you know how to open one." Ed said
"How do you know that?" Lark said
"Oh we know everything. It's a pity though. I even said we should get the official portal opener girl, but she would be a pain in the ass considering the history she would never ever open portals for the enemy again." Ed said
"How do you know I will help you?" Aster said as she got up
"Oh you will. We won't ask you to join us by giving you a lame speech or lying to you. We are just going to kill all your friends till you give in. Starting with this guy right here." Ed said smilingly
"What is up with you people and blackmailing?" Lark mumbled
"Fine. Go ahead. Kill this guy. He doesn't even like me anyway. He is so annoying, always scolding me for something or saying do this or don't do this. I'll have one less annoying person in my life." Aster replied
"I'm really going to do it." Ed said as they hear the guns triggering
"But wait..." Aster said
"So you are going to do what we tell you to?" Ed asked
"No...Don't do what they tell you to. Don't worry about about me. Just don't do what they want." Lark said
"Huh? Who's worrying about you? I'm just afraid that if you die, you're gonna haunt me forever and I don't want to have a dead guy annoying me." Aster said as she slowly started walking towards Lark
"Are you coming with us or not?" Ed asked
"Nope." Aster replied
"You should think clearly about this. Your friend here is gonna die if you don't do what we say." Ed said
"He isn't gonna die. Because I will protect him." Aster said as she stood right in front of Lark blocking him from the view of the pointing guns
"Just what are you..." Lark said as Aster interrupted him
"Come on. Shoot! Why aren't you shooting now?" Aster said
Ed looked at them with an unreadable expression
"You can't do it, can you? Because you need me alive. Well if you even try to hurt my friends, I'm going to kill myself. And then what are you going to do?" Aster said
"You are too over confident. Don't think of yourself for being so special. We can always go after the other girl or if we have to, her dad as well." Ed replied
Shoot. I didn't think of that. Aster thought as she went quiet. She didn't know what else to do now.
"Even if you go after them, their answers are gonna be the same." Lark said as they all then suddenly heard some explosion and saw a bridge fall down from far away. The smoke from that blast even comes to where they all are. In the amidst of smoke, Aster and Lark run away back to the palace.
At the palace
"Is everyone here?" Lark said as they all were in the palace grounds
"Where is Wren?" Azalea asked with worry
"He got separated from us before, I was pretty sure he should've been here by now." Vile said
"I hope he's alright." Ashley said
"We should go look for him. He might need help!" Azalea said
"Wait....lets just wait for a bit. The enemies are still out there and we have not got anything to fight them with." Lark replied
"Let's get some weapons from the basement first." Vile said as they all started walking inside the palace. That is when they noticed a few of the guards unconscious on the floor. They quickly run to the basement to find an unconscious Zed and the secret cabinet being opened. Lark looks inside to find the crystal gone.
"Shit!" He cursed
"It's gone." Vile said
"Where is the King?" Aster asked
"He's out of city for three days." Lark said
Ashley and Aster splash water on Zed. As he regains conscious, he tells them of how those guys attacked and took the crystal and that they were holding another case just like the Euphoria's crystal.
Suddenly they all hear footsteps approaching. They quickly grab whatever weapon they can as they get in their battle stance ready to attack whoever is about to come through that door.
As the door open, they are about to attack when they stop and see Wren.
"What the hell, you guys trying to kill me?" He said as he looked around and said, "What happened here?"
"What happened to you?!" Azalea said as Wren was bleeding from his forehead. There was a bruise on his cheek and nose and there was this sharp metal piece stuck on his right leg.
Wren sat down as he groaned and took the piece out of his leg. Azalea and Aster quickly went and got medical supplies.
"That explosion was you?" Ashley asked
"Are you crazy? You were in a public place! People could've gotten killed! Why do you have to be so reckless?" Lark said
"Hey! I was not the one who attacked! That other guy did. And my plan was perfect. I looked everywhere carefully thrice and there was no one around....except that old woman..." Wren said as his voice goes from high to low at the end
"Old woman? What old woman?!" Lark said
"Relax! I saved here. I almost died doing so." Wren said as Azalea touches his forehead with a cloth and he winces
"I thought you said no one was there. So how did she get there?" Lark said
"I don't know. Old woman are always coming up from nowhere..." Wren said as Lark glares at him and he again says, "I don't know. If you want me to apologise then I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I'm just mad about how they took the crystal!" Lark said
"This was their plan all along. They distracted us with this, so they could get the crystal." Zed said
"Now we need to get those crystals back." Aster said
