Chapter 24

As Wren and Azalea entered Euphoria, they were at the place where the official portal was. They reached just in time to see the official portal disintegrate into nothing. There were three more portals as well. Those three also disappeared just as they entered Euphoria.

Azalea saw her father and King Ethan standing there along with few more people, who looked like they either came from Utopia or Melancholia.

"You guys made it." Bryce said as he hugs Azalea and then Wren

"What happened?" Wren asked

"The portals opened here too. Since we had a hunch of what was about to happen, we announced that the portals are gonna be disappeared forever so whoever wants to live at which world, they should go to that world." King Ethan said

"And I didn't even have to open the portals because the portals were automatically opened." Bryce said

"Oh..." Wren and Azalea said as a look of sadness crept on their faces. They looked at each other with guilt in their eyes for they were feeling sorry for not being able to stop the ritual before it started.

"Umm...we are so sorry...we really are..." They both said

"If only we would've reached there sooner...." Wren said

"I'm sorry...Amber's....death...had me so shaken up..." Azalea said as tears again started forming in her eyes

"It's not your guys fault. We are just happy that you guys made it out alive..." Bryce said as he smiled slightly

"Besides this was bound to happen. We already knew the portals were going to be officially closed." King Ethan said

"What do you mean?" Wren and Azalea asked

"Snow...the one whom you refer to as the Lady Of Nature or what other names you have in your old books. She was the guardian of these portals. Her purpose aside from killing those man-eaters, was to ensure that the portals are protected. When she umm died, we knew the portals weren't going to last much longer. Even with the portal openers, the balance was disturbed. In a few years the portals were bound to disappear." King Ethan explained

"That is why we didn't tell you sooner. Because we thought you guys will loose focus on the mission." Bryce said

"So you knew this was going to happen all along?" Azalea said

"Yes." They both replied

"So umm...do you guys know anything about Adalinda and the people who used to live there?" Wren asked as he looks at the book he's holding

"Not much. Except the fact that they migrated here many years ago and that there aren't much of them left. Oh and that they are pretty strong." King Ethan said

"So did you know that my dad is from Adalinda?" Wren asked

"Umm..." Bryce and King Ethan looked at each other. Not knowing if they should answer.

"We might've known something, a little bit, regarding it." Bryce said

"Seriously! Just what is up with you guys and your damn secrecy." Wren said as he was frustrated at people not telling him the truth

"Lea!" Suddenly they hear King Mark say as he comes towards them and hugs Lea

"Grandpa?! What are you doing here? What about your kingdom? Who's in-charge of Melancholia now?" Azalea who was surprised at seeing her grandpa started asking thousands of questions

"I came here out of my own free will. Let's be honest. I'm an old man. My wife died many years ago. My children are already living their own lives. I've lived my life and I've ruled as much as I could. Next year your uncle was going to be crowned King anyways, so I left him in charge. I have a few years of my life left and I want to enjoy it with you guys." He said as he smiled

"So should we still call you King Mark?" King Ethan said

"No, just call me Mark." Mark replied

"Oh...I'm so happy you're here.." Azalea said

"Besides I figured I'd see if your dad and your boyfriend is up-to any good or not." He said as he looked at Wren and Bryce

"You will be surprised at what we are up-to." Bryce said as he looked at Wren and smirked

"Well at least he accepted me as her boyfriend." Wren said as he grinned

"Wren is not my boyfriend." Azalea said

"What?" They all exclaimed at once including Wren

"Why are you so shocked?" Azalea asked Wren, "You're my fiancé now, right?" She added as she smiled

"Oh right...I am." He said

"When did this happen?" The rest of them exclaimed

"I'm so happy for you two!" Bryce said

"Same here! We are gonna have one of the biggest wedding ever!" King Ethan said

Mark was about to say something when he sees the locket Wren is wearing.

"Where did you get that?" He asked pointing at that locket

"Do you know what this is?" Wren asked

"It's the symbol of Adalinda's dragon tribe's leader. The chief or the leader of the tribe wears it. It's only passed down in the ruling family. See it has a dragon craved on it." Mark said

"Oh wow I never noticed that." Azalea said as she looked closely at the locket

"But why would he give this and this to me?" Wren said as he showed them the locket and the book he was holding

"Who gave it to you?" Bryce asked

"Hunter. He said he was from Adalinda. He said I was also from that place and that we both were from the dragon's tribe. I don't know about the rest but he gave me this book and this locket." Wren explained

"You're the new chief of the dragon's tribe." Axel said as he came towards them

"I'm what?" Wren asked

"He's what?" Azalea also said at the same time

"Dad, do you know about all of this? And what do you mean by the dragon tribe?" Wren asked

"Let's just go inside and talk. I'll explain everything." Axel said. Since the official portal was at the backyard of the branch royal family house, they all went inside. Except King Ethan and Mark who went to help those other people who also came to Euphoria.
