At the Royal Palace of Melancholia
"Did you exchanged them?" Azalea asked
"Yep." Aster said as she brings the box and opens it up where the crystal is inside
"Did you get them? Lark asked Wren who smirked in return and pulls out the crystals from his pocket.
"Who do you think I am?" He said as he places the crystals on the table
"Yay our mission was a success." Ashley said
"I'm impressed." King Mark said
"Those guys think they still have the crystals, while we have the original ones. And now we can track what they are going to do with those fake crystals and get them all." Vile said
"Let's go back to Utopia." Lark said
"Ah wait. I have a question!" Azalea said
"What?" Ashley asked
"There's this fourth dimension as well. The zench or the place of dead or whatever it was called. Does that have a soul crystal as well?" She asked
"Oh yeah! Does it?" Wren asked looking at King Mark
"Maybe...." King Mark replied as he again was hesitating to say anything
"You're still not going to tell us anything?" Vile said as the King shook his head in return
"Thought so." Aster said
"Well let's just go back." Lark said as Azalea again opened a portal
"Are you sure you're okay? You opened three portals in three days?" Wren asked her
"Yeah I'm fine. I learned how to increase my stamina. Although this might be the last one. It'll take some time before I can open another one." She replied as everyone started going into the portal.
As Azalea was the last one to enter, she hugged the King goodbye. In that moment the King slipped a piece of paper in her pocket. She then also entered the portal.
In Utopia-
For a few days after that they kept track of what the enemy was doing. In between Azalea and Lark went to Euphoria for a few hours to give them back the crystal. But King Ethan instead told them to take the crystal back and keep it safe in Utopia. Azalea asked King Ethan about it, but he too said he cannot tell her. In that time King Mark also gave them the crystal of Melancholia to keep it safe with them.
They were all in the basement looking at the screen where there was a map and dots showing where the enemy was right now.
"What's the status?" Lark asked
"They are still collecting things." Zed replied
"It's like they are building some sort of machine." Azalea said
"A machine and those crystals. Just what are they trying to do?" Vile said
"Well I'm gonna go report this to the King. He asked for it." Lark said
"After that are you gonna go patrolling?" Aster asked
"Yeah." He replied
"We will come too." Ashley said
"Thanks. But you guys are only here for this mission." Lark said
"I know but this is totally unfair. You can't handle the whole city by yourself. We will come too." Azalea said
"Thanks guys but I don't want to impose on you guys so..." Lark said
"Oh how about this?! We have a competition!" Vile said
"A competition?" Lark asked
"That sounds fun. What's it about?" Zed said
"Well back in the academy we used to make competitions of little things. Like whoever does the funniest prank wins or whoever manages to see inside Sir Frank's cabinet wins." Vile explained
"Oh yeah! By the way Sir Frank was our history teacher and he had this mysterious cabinet with a bunch of locks on them. So we were always curious as to what was in there." Azalea explained
"Jen was the one who ended up seeing inside the cabinet. Even though she wasn't even part of the competition." Ashley said
"What was in there?" Aster asked
"Oh he loved to play video games. Even though he would always snatch ours from us, he had a whole cabinet full of them." Wren replied
"Yeah although I wonder why we stopped doing those competitions?" Vile said
"It's because things got a little out of hand." Ashley said
"No they didn't." Vile said
"Yes they did. Remember when you set fire to the whole lab?" Azalea said
"Oh yeah. Now that was funny. The lab intendant's pants were on fire." Vile said as he laughed
"What?" Aster said as everyone else laughed too
"Although that wasn't a competition or anything." Vile said
"Yes it was. You made a bet with me to see which one of these chemicals would help set a fire." Wren said
"Oh yeah!" Vile said
"I still can't believe you agreed to that bet, Wren." Azalea said
"He agreed to do all my cleaning duties for a week if he lost." Wren replied
"Yeah well that bet didn't help when you two had to repaint the whole lab and clean it all." Ashley said
"You guys sound like you had so much fun!" Aster said
"Well yeah. It was fun!" Azalea said
"Although Jack, Mika, Jen and Violet were in the department so we didn't get to spend that much time with them." Ashley said
"My boss trains me and all but he is always nagging me. He's like do this or don't do this! Or what did you, you don't do it like this, you ruined it! Go clean that mess you created!" Aster said as she tried to imitate her boss's voice as everyone else laughed
"We don't have any academy or anything. We used to. But now we don't." Zed said
"How about you set one up?" Wren asked
"Well I'm planning on it. After a few years when things are settled down." Lark replied
"So what do you say? Wanna do a competition?" Vile said
"Sure. What's it about?" Lark asked
"Simple. Whoever catches the most criminal at the end of the day wins." Wren said
"What does the winner gets?" Lark asked
"I'd like to say something like the winner gets to keep his pride and dignity but that's too cliche." Vile said
"Who cares what the winner gets. It's not like you are gonna win." Wren said to Lark
"Oh really? Well it's not like you are gonna win either. Because when I win, you will be the loser." Lark said
"Oh so you two just assumed that the winner is gonna be the either of you? We are here too you know." Azalea said
"Got it. Well I'm gonna meet the King after that we can start with this!" Lark said
