Her Bodyguard

Chapter 2

Cecilia's P.O.V

"You're finally here! What took you so long?" My best friend, Mary said.

"Something came up. Sorry, but I'm here now. So, what do I need to do?" I put down my bag on the counter and face her again.

"A lot of things! You need to double check the displays on the window to check if I mess up something. I need you to check everything, because I might have mess something or everything up. I'm so nervous Cecilia! You need to help me!" She rambles. I can't help but laugh.

"Okay love, first, you need to relax. Everything looks perfect, you don't have to worry." I assure her, before looking over to Elizabeth. "Can you go and buy us some coffee Eli? Thank you." She nodded, she was about to go when she stop and look at Dimitri, tucking her hair behind her ear. Jealousy runs through me at the sight which I don't understand.

"Do you want to come with me Dim- I mean Mr. Branson?" She ask shyly.

"No, thank you. I'm not allowed to leave miss Winters." Dimitri respond, without even looking at her. Elizabeth's face turned even redder and hurriedly went outside.

He sure is cold.

Mary pulls me a little further, away from Dimitri. "Who is that? Why is he not allowed to stay away from you?" She ask, sounding so excited.

"He's my bodyguard. Yep, papa hired a bodyguard for me. Come, let me introduce you."

I pulled her towards where Dimitri is standing, checking out by-passers. He's so alert. I tap his shoulder to get his attention.

"Yes, miss Winters?"

"Dimitri, I would like to introduce you to my very best friend here, Mary Adams. Mary, this is Dimitri Branson, my bodyguard." The two shook hands and exchanged hello's before Dimitri went back on what he's doing. Mary, on the other hand gave me a knowing look.

"What?" I ask.

"He's handsome."

"I know." I replied in a dreamy state, staring at Dimitri's broad shoulder.

"You like him" She stated.

"I thin I do! Goodness me! I just met him couple of hours ago. It's too soon right?"

"It's natural Cecilia. Nothing is too soon when liking someone."

"Right." I look at my watch to check the time and it's still half past nine. "Thirty more minutes to go hon. You ready?"

"Not yet. I need coffee and speaking of coffee, where is she? The coffee shop is only fifteen minutes away from here." Right after she said that, Elizabeth walk in with five cups in hand. She gave one to Dimitri first, then to us and lastly to Mary's shop assistant and leaving one cup for her.

"Thank you Eli." She just smile and nodded before standing next to Dimitri, trying to have a conversation. I see, someone has a crush on my man and that irks me.

Wait. Back up a little bit. My man? My man? Since when did Dimitri became your man Cecilia?

I was so lost in my own thoughts that I didn't realize I was already walking towards the two.

"Elizabeth, you can go to my office first. I want you to cancel all my appointments for today and help the staff handle the walk-in clients." I said calmly.

"Understood ma'am. I'll be going then." She said and went on, but not before glancing at Dimitri. I saw her get in the taxi, before going back to where Mary is, who is smiling at me teasingly.

"You just met the guy couple of hours ago, you like him in an instant and now you got jealous with your assistant and just became possessive. My, my Cecilia. You really surprise me, this is the first time you acted like this towards a guy and this fast as well." Instead of reasoning with her, I just took a sit and trying to enjoy my coffee, because even though I want to find reason for my actions, I can't seem to find one. I'm even surprise by my own actions, what did I just do? But she's right, this really is the first time I acted like this involving a man. Sure, I had a lot of crushes back in college and university days and most of them courted me, but I never felt like this before. All of the guys who courted me, I rejected all of them, even though I liked them too, but I just don't feel like dating them and stuff.
