Midnight

On a glittering alien world, an attendant brings a telephone Poppy who is in a bright pool in front of Donna who was lounging by it in a bathrobe.

"I said, no!" Donna shouts from her spot, already knowing who was on the phone to her best friend

"She said no," Poppy laughs, telling The Doctor "and I am very comfortable where I am,"

"Sapphire waterfall. It's a waterfall made of sapphires!" the Doctor exclaims "This enormous jewel, the. Reaches the Cliffs of Oblivion, and then shatters into sapphires at the edge. They fall a hundred thousand feet into a crystal ravine.

"I bet you say that to all the girls," Poppy half flirts

"Oh, come on. They're boarding now. It's no fun if I see it on me own. Four hours, that's all it takes,"

"Four hours!" Poppy shouts up to Donna

"No, that's four hours there and four hours back. That's like a school trip. I'd rather go sunbathing,"

"She said it's like a school trip and she'd rather be sunbathing,"

"How about you?" The Doctor ask and Poppy sighs

"You're the one who said I need a break, and this pool is amazing, plus I have a bad feeling about that, as awesome as it would be too see,"

"Ok well, you two better be careful, that's Xtonic sunlight.

"Oh, I'm safe. It says in the brochure this glass is fifteen feet thick,"

"All right, I give up, I'll be back for dinner. We'll try that anti-gravity restaurant. With bibs,"

"That's a date," Poppy the pauses "Well, not a date. Oh, you know what I mean. Oh, get off,"

"See you later," Poppy can practically feel the smile through the phone

"Oi, you be careful"

"Taking a big space truck with a bunch of strangers across a diamond planet called Midnight? What could possibly go wrong?"

"Anything and everything," Poppy says before The Doctor hangs up, she hands the pone back to the employee "Poppy hangs up and hands the phone back to the butler "Donna, you better not nick my cocktail, or I swear, I'll bleach your hair. Don't test me," Donna laughs as Poppy pushes herself back into the pool.

The Doctor had phoned and told them what happened, so Poppy was in a fluffy robe with sandals on by the time he entered. Donna hugged him first and Poppy held his hand before getting a hug herself, Donna led them to the sun lounges

"What do you think it was?" Poppy asks gently

"No idea,"

"Do you think it's still out there?" The Doctor doesn't respond "Well, you'd better tell them. This lot,"

"Yeah. They can build a Leisure Palace somewhere else. Let this planet keep on turning round an Xtonic star, in silence,"

"Can't imagine you without a voice," Poppy mutters

"Molto bene,"

"Molto bene," Donna copies

"No, don't do that. Don't. Don't," Poppy wrapped her left arm around his shoulders.

"Come on, I'm starving,"

A/N: I know a lot of people might not like Poppy not being there for literally the entire episode, but I think it's important that I show she's still best friends with Donna and I think this was something The Doctor should have done on his own.
