A/N: Here is another chapter and I hope you enjoy it.
I'm almost done with this story, and it was because of you lovely readers that I extended my short story to a longer version. I had so many readers wanting more. I may write more Ae and Pete stories, but I'm not sure right now. I write the stories as they come to mind.
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey and I hope to see you at the next story. :)
Pete POV
I don't know what is up with Max and Fei today. Every time I went to look at my phone, they wouldn't let me. They think that I didn't catch on, but I did. They weren't that subtle about it either. However, I've managed to sneak off the bathroom with my phone. Man, I feel like I'm back in high school and I'm doing something wrong.
I shake my head and softly chuckle to myself. Well, this isn't high school and checking to see if I have any messages from my boyfriend isn't wrong either. Plus, I haven't been able to send him any messages today which I really hate.
I look back towards the bathroom door, as I make sure that Max hasn't followed me. I guess that I actually got away this time.
I smile as I look at my phone and read a few cute messages from Ae. He is so sweet and kind. I'm so lucky to have him as my boyfriend.
My thoughts of Ae are interrupted when some commotion occurs right outside the bathroom door. Shoot, maybe Max came looking for me.
I quickly type Ae a message letting him know that I miss him and that I'll see him in a few more minutes, before I quickly slide my phone back in my pocket. I take a deep breath, as I hope that it isn't Max outside the bathroom door.
With confidence, I stride to the door and I yank it open. My mouth nearly drops to the floor as my mother stands at the entrance of our office. What is she doing?
I glance around the office and I suddenly realize what the commotion is about. They recognize my mother and the majority of the staff is trying to get a better look at her. I can tell by the puzzled looks on their faces, that they have no idea why she is here. Well, this is going to be a rather big shock when they find out that she is my mother.
My mother scans the office and slowly walks towards the center of the room. As her eyes finally find me, she calls out, "Son, there you are."
As if in slow motion, everyone in the office, except Max and Fei, turn their heads towards me, including my boss and upper management, who are now standing around the office.
Well, I guess my cover is blown now. There is no use hiding it now. I smile and walk towards her. "Mom, what are you doing here?"
"We have to go now. Get your things and come with me."
I'm confused. I don't know what is going on. I frown and ask, "Why? Did something happen?"
Instead of answering my question, my mother scans the office and announces, "I'm not sure who Pete's boss is, but I'm taking my son with me for an emergency." She doesn't wait for a response, as she turns her attention back to me. "Son, we have to go now."
I don't argue. Instead, I nod and turn towards my desk. I dash over and close my open documents before turning my computer off. I grab my things, and I spin back around and dash towards my mother. She is a professional at hiding her emotions, but I can pick up a tiny bit of something in her eyes. However, I don't have enough time to figure out exactly what it is. I'm sure that I'll find out as soon as we get to the car.
