Chapter 1 Page 14
Dakota Nelson
Dakota looked over the bright blue ocean of her beach house that she grew up in, her parents had gone through a great deal to purchase the house.
She got up and begin walking back to her house where her younger sister was playing with her older sister. She waved at them and went into the house to wash up for dinner. But when she saw her parents in deep discussion, she crept forward to eavesdrop.
"Simple, you and I move to the city"
"What about the girls? How are they going to take it?"
"Don't worry about them, they can choose who they want to stay with."
"But it is cruel to make them choose!"
Dakota gasped, her dad would be staying at the beach house and her mom and her mom's boyfriend would be moving to the city. She ran away from the house and toward her treehouse that her family had built when she was younger.
There she sat and cried, she already knew her decision, but she also knew her sister's decision. She would be all alone at the beach house with her dad and her Cockatoo, Harley.
Dakota opened her electric blue eyes to bright sun filling her room. She sat up and looked at her clock, she stood up immediately and ran down the stairs. It was 2:37 in the afternoon, her parents and sisters left at 2:00.
She got to the kitchen and saw her parents and sisters eating lunch and talking. Her grandparents saw her and explained that her family was waiting for her to wake up before they left. She sat down to eat her lunch and said goodbye to her sisters and parents. After they left for the airport she went to play with Harley.
A week later, Dakota was walking down the beach when she heard a sound. She looked up and there was an eagle sitting on some driftwood. Wow, why is there an eagle right there...
Dakota looked around and the other people on the beach did not notice anything, when she looked back at the eagle it was gone.
That's weird... I could have sworn that there was an eagle there. She gathered her stuff and walked back home, on her way she saw 6 more eagles circling her. She started to run home scared of what they would do, but when she ran past an abandoned store, a hand shot out of one of the alleyways and grabbed her arm yanking her into the ally.
