Chapter 3

Dakota Nelson

I tried to scream but the person covered my mouth with a towel. I struggled against my captor, but it was useless. ... I went limp in my captor's arms, they immediately loosened their grip on me and I struck them in the face with the back of my head, stunning them.

I ran back toward the door and ran into the street. I did not stop running until I reached my house. I ran to my room and locked my door. I could have sworn there that the person had snakes under their hood.

I opened my laptop and searched for things that looked like that, all I found was Medusa, but that was crazy, Medusa was a Myth. I did more searching and found that she had two sisters, but then I thought what if they had been wearing a mask.

I decided not to tell my dad, maybe it was a joke?  I thought. But as I lay on my bed my eyes started to get heavy and soon I fell asleep.

I opened my eyes to a big white feathery head in my face squawking and saying "Good morning!" I jumped up and Harley flew to his cage and screeched in surprise. I walked over to his cage, "Why is your cage open Harley?" I asked.

Then I noticed that my room was a mess, my books were scattered around my room, my desk was covered in papers. After I put Harley in is cage I walked down the stairs and what I saw made me dizzy and I almost lost consciousness.

There in the kitchen was my dad, except he was stone. I ran up to him hoping this was some joke but it wasn't. His expression was horrid with fear and pain, I looked around for some clues, but found nothing.

I was about to go call the police when I noticed a pair of hooves and a black tail on the ground right outside the open door, I went to go see what it was and when I got around the corner, "Oh my god, oh my god" I said as I fell onto my butt crawling away slowly. Lying down on my front porch was a bay horse, no wait, a Pegasus!

She looked like she was sleeping or passed out, and she had a cut on her neck and claw marks on her flank. I finally got the courage to walk up to her and touch her leg, the moment I touched her, she opened her eyes with a grunt and looked at me. I was too stunned to do anything other than back away and ask, "What the hell are you?"
