"What were you thinking, mate?! Shouting at Professor Umbridge like that and landing yourself in detention!" Blaise exclaimed toward me at the common room.
"Yeah, what's gotten into you?" Daphne asked.
"I just don't like what she said about half breeds. Some of them are my friends, and she was dissing them," I seethed. I didn't add that she was dissing me too.
"Well, you be careful," Blaise warned, "Professor Umbridge is from the Ministry, so mind you that she has pull to make your life difficult."
I snorted, like anything can top the demigod life in terms of difficulty, especially if you are the son of Hades whose favourite punishment involves the Fields of Punishment themselves.
"Sometimes, I really do think you are from Mars," Daphne said.
I shrugged, as if saying 'close enough.'
It was nearly 5, and both Daphne and Blaise looked at me beseechingly.
"Please tell me that you are going to detention. If you don't, who knows how that will affect Slytherin?"
I threw a blank look.
"Mate," Blaise started when he knew that I was definitely going to skip this detention, "You are going to make yourself a pariah here if you keep this up... just go to detention, it's better than being excluded if you don't. Who knows that if you skip detention, she will make it worse for you... and us..."
I frowned. I have been excluded all my life, so why should it be any different.
Then again, why should I make my own life difficult?
Resigned, I headed to the exit.
"Good man," Blaise said.
"We will make this up for you later," Daphne said.
I scowled slightly, but although who on earth likes detention, it could be said that it could be a whole lot worse. In fact, I expected this to have detention a whole lot earlier.
It took me some time to find Toad's office, but I managed after I met Harry in a corridor.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Detention with Professor Umbridge..." Harry said.
"Oh, me too," I said, and we fell back into step with each other.
Harry reached the office and opened the door. He looked horror-struck, while I covered my eyes, nearly screaming at this monstrosity of a room.
I could never really describe my first impression of the room for it was truly too horrible for words, but once words could not fail me, my thought was that female versions of Otis and Ephilates did a number to this room.
Girly fashioned old lady style in the version of doilies and putrid pink that screamed too loud and too wrong. And I thought that no can top the Aphrodite girl with their cabin of girlish, in the worst way possible.
But the worst... oh the worst, were those cats on plates, their huge orb eyes blinking at me and with so creepy smiles. Nothing can top my disgust factor now...
"Good evening, Mr. di Angelo, Mr. Potter," a girlish voice said.
In all the pink, I barely noticed Toad who was sitting smugly on a shocking pink desk that was just so... Toad-like.
Harry mumbled 'good evening' back, but I backed off some more and rubbed my eyes to rub off all this from my mind.
Thankfully, I slowly got used to it, and then sat down alongside Harry.
