"And where have you taken us, Mr. di Angelo?" Dumbledore asked politely, but his wand was still clutched tightly inside his hand as a sign of determination not to be bested.
"A little ways from that clearing. So your members can't attack me," I said, shrugging, also holding tightly to my own wand.
"Are you really that determined to get my wand, Nico?" Dumbledore asked, suddenly referring me to my first name.
I jolted at that, but managed to keep my cool later.
"I have to," I said.
"You don't. You just want the Deathly Hallows, correct?" Dumbledore asked.
I frowned, hoping that my mental shields are strong enough not to be pried so that Dumbledore knows nothing more than what he thinks he knows.
"Then, I'm sorry to say I cannot let you, Nico..." Dumbledore said, registering my silence as if affirming his own question.
"Is there a reason for that, not the 'not wanting other people to steal your wand' reason, but another? Something related to the Deathly Hallows itself?" I asked.
Dumbledore narrowed his eyes, "If only you kn-"
But he was interrupted by a shot spell by me. I'm interested in Dumbledore's aversion to the Deathly Hallows, sure, but I want a quick steal of the Elder wand too and will use any way possible just to steal it.
Unfortunately, Dumbledore has the reflexes beyond an old man as he quickly dodged and shot a spell of his own, to stun me, perhaps? But I shielded myself.
"How do you know about the Deathly Hallows? Did you find out by yourself, or... someone else told you?" Dumbledore asked.
I didn't answer as I quickly waved my wand, and rope immediately shot off wrapping to Dumbledore until they turned into smoke, sent to me, and blinding my vision.
"I know you won't answer me, but if you yourself or someone else wants the Deathly Hallows, it's not meant to be..." Dumbledore said.
I waved my wand to clear it as Dumbledore suddenly disappeared to reappear right beside me as he shot a spell.
It didn't hit me, as I shadow traveled a few feet away, having the shadows clinging to Dumbledore as I shot another spell.
Even then, Dumbledore was unfazed, because he said, "Whatever reason it may be, the Deathly Hallows are cursed. Many people have attempted to find them and bring them together and many have failed, with the worst consequences upon them..."
He shielded my spell immediately and then he shot out a whip of fire, lashing out to me as I took out my sword instead to deflect it out of instinct.
"The only consequences the Deathly Hallows have are that they existed when they shouldn't. They simply shouldn't exist again," I simply said, just to go with the conversation as we're dueling, just to break the serious silence if anything.
I immediately stabbed my sword to the ground which led a crack leading to Dumbledore, but he narrowly evaded.
"So, you are going to destroy them?" Dumbledore asked.
"Would that mean you would willingly hand over the Wand?" I asked hopefully.
Dumbledore slowly shook his head, "I do not trust you, Nico. There are so many things I don't know about you."
Suddenly, skeletons emerged from the crack as I smiled, although it was slightly hollow, because I still had to continue this duel.
"Same here, but you don't see me complaining, right?"
