Tommorow has come and with that a new batch of lessons. We demigods of ADHD put this as number one torture, but seeing that it was magical lessons might hold the interest. Having experienced it myself, I would say it does hold interest.
And for some reason, it still does.
Leo was up to pranks with the Weasley twins. Calypso tagged along. Hazel was hanging out with the Hufflepuffs, enjoying Charms. Will enjoyed Potions despite Professor Snape because of the healing properties of some.
We all went our separate ways, of course.
Leo and Calypso are the same year as the Weasley twins. Hazel, being a year younger is in Ginny's year. Although Will is a year older than me, they put him into the same year, but being in different houses, we rarely have lessons together.
A shame.
It was during the end of lessons and out at the grounds, that we met up under a tree, overlooking the Lake where a tentacle was lazily popping out into the open.
"What is that?" Hazel asked, mystified.
"Apparently they have a giant squid here," I said.
"Seriously? This place is becoming awesome. They even have this tree that attacks anything that comes near it!" Leo exclaimed.
"Does that explain the scar, babe?" Calypso asked, pointing at a bloody scar on Leo's cheek which looked fresh.
"Yeah... that tree was intense. I was so shocked that I burned myself," Leo stated.
"Did anyone see you?" I asked, giving a sidelong glance at Leo who simply smiled.
"Don't worry, I was completely alone. Everyone else was at class," Leo said.
"Leonidas Valdez, how dare you cut class?" Calypso scolded.
"But History of Magic is boring. If I didn't get out of there, I would have been a ghost just like that professor!" Leo exclaimed.
But Calypso continued scolding Leo, which made Hazel laughed at the sight. To any outsider's view, it seemed like a bunch of mates from different Houses were just hitting it off, yet there were deeper undertones to it.
"So, Angel, did you manage to find anyway into Dumbledore's office?" Will asked.
I shook my head. And then Will turned on to Hazel.
Knowing the question that was coming, Hazel also shook her head.
"It's a bit different from breaking into Headquarters, but I also sense the Mist around that statue which probably leads to Dumbledore's office... right?" Hazel asked looking at me with a questioning look in her eyes.
I nodded. We both confirmed that Dumbledore's office, which I have been to once before was probably behind an ugly stone gargoyle that was on the same floor as the Transfiguration class.
"Well, for some reason, unlike the Headquarters where the Mist was faint and magic new, the gargoyle's Mist was a lot foggier and magic very ancient, maybe a few decades after Hecate made this world?" Hazel suggested.
"That would make sense," I said, deep in thought. Hogwarts has been around since, well... even before medieval times itself, so a long time, as Hazel said. And with magic, the truth of it. The older, the harder to break. That is why no one stays awake at Professor Binns' history classes. Because history as old is hard to break into your minds. Especially in that droning voice.
Considering the founders of Hogwarts with their ancient magic were the ones who blocked Dumbledore's office except for the Headmaster/Headmistress themselves, it was understandable that the magic would stump Hazel, who even with her powers of Mist, was still too basic with wizarding magic. It was a lucky turn that she was able to break into Headquarters, but breaking into an office protected magically by four highly powerful wizards from ancient times.
