Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley was a place of hustle and bustle that it was easy to get lost but Mrs. Weasley has a firm grip on me as she stirred me to a store called Madam Malkin's.

It was full of what I see wizards wearing: robes. I don't really look forward to wearing those.

Why in Hades would I want to wear something that breezes through my privates, excuse my speech.

There was the one time at Rome where I have to wear a toga, yes, but it was temporary. A few hours once in a while, which was rarely.

But wizards wore this things ,like, every day. What is wrong with them? Past their years, they are.

"How can I help you?" A woman behind the desk asked, giving me just a brief glance.

"I need..." I didn't really listen at her at that point. My ADHD just wandered to observing more of the people at the store and I was jolted back to the conversation when Mrs. Weasley gripped my shoulder tighter.

"... and I need you to fit the robes for him," Mrs. Weasley.

"Alright," the woman said, "C'mon, dear, let's fit you."

After that was done, we went to a bookshop called Flourish and Blotts. Mrs. Weasley bought all the books required and although my dyslexia was killing me for looking at all those tittles, I couldn't say it was not uninteresting the books of the wizarding world. Wouldn't it be fun to learn all the jinxes from the wizarding world for good revenge that does not involve 'any Underworld magic, doctor's orders!' or a good prank.

Then, we made a stop through apothecary for basic potion's set. Potions? Why not? Sounded very witchy. Percy would be good at it, though, but I felt like it might be tedious for me.

Then, we bought the rest of the stuff even a broomstick at a store called Quality Quidditch Supplies. Broomsticks that can fly... I swore I would never touch one from this day forward.

We were buying pet food. Every animal was looking at me reproachfully and either avoiding me or hissing at me except for one.

A black kitten snuck up to me and was caressing my legs, purring at me. I picked up the cat and it put it's paw at my nose, the black eyes staring at me intently. For some reason, it reminded me of my sister, Bianca, even though I knew Bianca was reborn to a new family of people, not animals.

"It seems to like you," the store owner remarked, as the other animals were backing away from me as I went to the counter, "Would you like to buy her?"

"Her?" I asked. Bianca all over.

"Yes, would like to have her?" The store owner asked.

The cat meowed at him and I just... I could hear that the cat really likedme and she really reminded me somewhat of my sister. "Yes," I said.

"What would you name her?" the store owner asked.

"Bea..." I whispered to the cat, who meowed happily. Bea, a nickname for Bianca and will pass on to this lovely creature.

"Come on, dear, one more place to go," Mrs. Weasley said, and led me on.

They stopped at a store called Ollivanders.

They went inside. It was a tiny place except for a single spindly chair which Mrs. Weasley occupied. Rows and rows of boxes filled every shelf in the room. It gave the room a power of magic that tingle every hair of my back.

Maybe it wasn't only the magic, because suddenly at his back, a voice whispered, "Good afternoon."

My instincts must be rusty because I jumped a foot back from the voice, which turned out to be an old man.

"You look quite old to be here. What happened to your wand?" He asked inquiringly.

I looked at Mrs. Weasley who answered for me.

"He doesn't have one. His father has been keeping secret about the wizarding world from him until a misadventure and it was in Professor Dumbledore's best interest to bring him into Hogwarts and so, he needs a wand."

The answer was not particularly illuminating, not for the old man, who might as well be Ollivander but he nodded all the same.

"Well, lets find you a wand, shall we? What's your wand arm?" he asked.

"I'm... uh... right handed?" I said.

"Hold out that arm out," Ollivander said. The measuring tape started coming out as Ollivander was circling around.

"You know, the wand always chooses the wizard as well as the wizard the wand. I am highly interested to see what wand will choose you, seeing your stature, quiet power..."

"Hmm... that's fine," the measuring tape fell down.

"Alright, let's try this... aspen and dragon heartstring?" Ollivander handed the wand. "Try and wave it."

I did, but the wand sparked and flew off my hand. Ollivander barely dodged.

"Alright, hmm... blackthorn and phoenix feather..."

This one just blazed in fire to my hand when I tried it and Ollivander snatched it away before anymore damage could be done. Leo would have loved that wand.

"No, not that either... Hmm..."

The wands kept piling up but Ollivander was not to be disappointed.

"I've always face with tricky customers like you but I never disappoint," Ollivander declared at my sullen face as I tried like the hundredth wand.

"You are pretty unusual, so why not something equally unusual. Elder wood and Thestral hair, fashioned after the Elder wand itself!" Ollivander declared as he handed it to me.

I felt a strong affinity with the wand immediately once it was placed in my hands. I waved and the shadows immediately went toward me, enveloping me in it's blackness. I felt the feeling like shadow travel.

"Nico!" Mrs. Weasley called out but I was already whisked away by the darkness... to a strong feeling. I knew where I was going immediately.

The darkness subsided and I was finally at a place of stone and vault. The Horcrux I felt at Gringotts was here. They did put a curse on my shadow travel, but not on the shadows channeled through this wand.

So I can get rid of the Horcrux today after all. Looks like the shopping wasn't a waste after all.

Sharpening my instincts, I immediately set off to find the Horcrux.

Then, a snort came out.

I looked around and was shocked, but not too shocked.

A sentence rang out through my head.

A demigod's life is never easy...
