Lucas POV

I was walking to the willow tree at the side of one of the buildings to get away from my girlfriend and my friends, they can be pretty annoying and they're being really annoying right now. I walk over to the trunk and take out a book I'm reading and sit down, I hear rustling in the tree above me but I didn't think anything of it until I heard a groggy but freaking hot voice say "What ya reading?" I almost jumped out of my skin, "W-Who's there?" I cried out "I'm not gonna hurt you-" but then the voice stopped and I was hit with a scent of  pine cones and fairy floss, and my wolf Blaze just kept repeating the word

Mate,

Mate,

Mate.

I heard a thud and I look up to see a boy with raven hair and green eyes, as soon as we make eye contact we both say "Mate." In unison, I scramble up and say "no," over and over again. What will my girlfriend think?! What will all my friends think?! "I-I'm sorry!" I manage to choke out before running away while tears roll down my cheek.

I knew my mate wasn't following me because the amazing scent from him wasn't following me, I ran into the small woods in our school grounds and sat by a tree while sobbing, "Lucas?" I heard a familiar voice say, "S-Sammy?" I sobbed, Sammy was my closest friend I knew, "What's wrong?" He asked me while sitting next to me "I-I found my m-mate..." I choked out then started sobbing again. "That's a good thing right?" "No it isn't!" "Why?" "Because my mate is MALE!" I cried out, Sammy looked shocked for a second then he had a calm look on his face before saying "I don't care what gender you're mate is, just as long as your happy, I'm sure Jemma will be happy for you too." "But Jemma is my girlfriend won't she be heartbroken?" I said

"Maybe, but I think she might have found her mate."

"Wait really?!"

"Yeah!"

"Holy hell I need to go see her."

Lucario's POV

My mate, he ran away from me. My heart aches and I feel like crying but I know it's not me who wants to cry, it's the connection I feel with my mate is what's making this way.

'Do you even know who that is?' My wolf, Ridge, said to me

'No, should I?'

'YES! Omg how do you not remember him-' Ridge sighed

'never mind I'll just let you figure it out yourself.'

'Damn, I feel like he reminds me of someone, I guess time can only tell'

And with that I walked off to my next class, the scent of my mate getting thicker but it was still pretty far away, I sighed, I wish he didn't run away from me.

I reached my next class, it was P.E so not that hard, I went inside the locker room and got changed into my P.E uniform and then went to the gym. The faint smell of my mate got thicker and thicker until I saw him walk through the door, the uniform shows his defined abs perfectly and do t get me started on the shorts, that just makes his ass look perfect- okay I'm just rambling on right now I should stop.

I made eye contact with my mate and winked at him, he blushed and turned his face around to talk with his friends, I already befriended a few people so I wasn't alone, "Alright kids listen up!" Our P.E teacher yelled, "6 laps around the field and then take a break before we start on some races!" I went outside to the field and jogged most of the laps while talking to my friends and then sprinted off with them as our 6th lap was almost finished.

As I was drinking from my water bottle this  short girl came up to me and started whisper yelling at me "I swear if you do anything to hurt Lucas' heart I will-" but before she could finish water spurted out of my mouth "Did you say, Lucas?!" I blurted out, "Yes, the one and only Lucas with Platinum blonde hair?" She joked while chuckling but stopped when she realised the shocked expression on my face.

That couldn't be the same Lucas from my childhood right?!

'Oh yes, it is.'

Hi guys, I'm writing this at like 11 pm on a school night so I'm probably gonna be tired as hell tomorrow, also I'm gonna try and write a longer chapter sometime in the future but anyways I hope
