After work, Ricky and I decided to make dinner together and spend the rest of the night coming up with new menu items for the bakery. Or not- it's Friday.
Once we walked in, I grabbed the cold bottle of Pinot Grigio I had in my refrigerator and sat it on the counter before grabbing two wine glasses and pouring us each one.
I handed Ricky, who was sitting on a bar stool, his glass.
"To a successful first week as entrepreneurs," Ricky said putting his glass in the air towards me.
"And to making our childhood dream come true," I said, clinking my glass to his. "I love you, Rick."
"I love you, too," he smiled, hugging me after taking a sip of his wine. "So what's for dinner?"
"I was really craving fettuccine alfredo today," I chuckled. "And I have chicken and broccoli to go in it as well."
"Sounds good!" He smiled. "Let's get started because I am starving."
"Ooh! You know what? I should invite Alex over," I said, turning away from the kitchen and looking at Ricky once again. "By the way, do you think he's cute?"
"The dude that came info the shop today?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah, he's cute. Why?"
"He has a small crush on you," I told him with a smile.
"Really? Well, it's not like the Indiana thing is gonna work out so," he shrugged. "Hey, not a bad thought."
"Okay, well I'm gonna go over and ask him," I said, walking out of the apartment. I walked over to his door and knocked. After waiting a few seconds, he answered with a smile from ear to ear.
"Georgia, hi!" He said excitedly. "What's going on?"
"Well Ricky and I are cooking dinner and we wanted to invite you over!" I said, clapping my hands together and smiling back at him.
"Damn it! My parents are in town and we're about to go out to dinner," he sighed.
"That's okay!" I said to him. "Some other time! Ricky is around a lot."
"Please, yes, some other time. I need other people to hang out with," He whined. "I get so sick of my coworkers. Lovely people but can I not talk about hair for five minutes?"
"I understand," I chuckled. "Also, Ricky thinks you're cute."
"Say what?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "Okay, I might have to ditch my parents."
"No, no," I laughed at him. "Like I said, Ricky will be around often. You have fun with your parents."
"Thank you," he smiled and leaned in for a hug. "You have fun with my future boyfriend."
"Will do," I nodded as I walked back to my apartment. Before opening the door, I turned and looked at the door beside Alex's.
Mrs. Duncan. I'm sure she'd love to have dinner with us.
So I walked back across the hall and knocked on her door. I heard shuffling inside until she opened it and smiled big at me.
"Oh, hello!" She said. "How are you, honey?"
"I'm doing great, Mrs. Duncan," I smiled at her. "How are you?"
"Oh, you know," she waved her hand at me with a little laugh. "I'm getting around."
"How would you like to come eat dinner with my friend and I?" I asked her. "We're cooking pasta and making dessert after!"
"That would be lovely!" She clapped her hands together. "Should I change?"
