After my shift, I walked back to my apartment, hoping to get ready in enough time to meet Austin outside. I had an hour and a half to get ready so I immediately began.

I showered quickly, two songs being the duration of it. After towel drying my hair, I threw on an old t-shirt as I got ready, making my makeup look as close to perfect as I could get it with my minimal makeup skills.

"I like the summer rain, I like the sounds you make. We put the world away, we get so disconnected," I sang as I finished my mascara, trying to keep my damp hair out of my face.

Once I was content, I dried my hair and began picking out an outfit. I decided on a white Led Zeppelin shirt and black skinny jeans paired with white Converse. The most fitting thing I had for somewhere that wasn't the bakery.

When I got finished getting dressed, I straightened my hair and reapplied my lipstick. It was 6:52 and I decided to go ahead and wait on Austin outside. I gave myself one last glance in my full-length mirror before deciding it was good enough.

I grabbed my phone, wallet, and keychain before walking out. Upon locking my door, I saw Austin sitting on a bench underneath a window that was just outside the elevator.

"You look... Really pretty," he said to me, standing up. He had on a band t-shirt also, Aerosmith, with light-washed ripped jeans and VANS. He looked amazing.

"Well, thank you," I chuckled, walking closer to him. "The only difference from my usual look is that my hair is down."

"You just look really pretty everyday," he said to me and my heart started beating rapidly. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah," I nodded with a smile as he pressed the elevator button. We both got on upon its arrival and I couldn't help but think about the girl I had to watch him suck faces with. Maybe he's not for me.

No, Georgia, just enjoy yourself without overthinking.

"I hope you don't think it's weird I asked you on a date," I said to him, breaking the silence in the small space.

"Weird? Why would I think that?" He turned to me and asked as the elevator doors opened.

"You just bring all these girls home and you don't seem like the dating type," I shrugged, not meaning to offend him. "Sorry. That sounded better in my head."

"Well," he chuckled as we walked to where his car was parked. An old black car that suited him. "Maybe I just haven't found the right person yet."

He opened my door for me as I smiled, sliding into the beige leather interior. He was soon beside me in the driver's seat and I caught myself staring at him.

"So, uh," I said to shake my thoughts. "Where is this place?"

"It's downtown but it's about a twenty minute walk, and I didn't want my date to work harder than she has to," he smirked at me, putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the parking space. "Plus, my car is special to me. It was my grandfather's, and I just wanted to share it with someone."

"It's really nice," I smiled, looking over at him. "I don't have a grandfather."

"What do you mean?" He questioned me and I sighed.

"My mom is a single mother, and her mom was as well. I don't know my dad," I shrugged, looking at the road. "Never really had a man be constant in my life besides Ricky."

"I'm sorry, Georgia," he said softly to me. "But to be fair, you definitely don't seem like the type of woman to need a man. At all."

"I'm not," I laughed. Mostly because I was on a date with a man right now, but also because it is kind of sad. "I'm fine."
