Hunter x Hunter: Boyfriend Scenarios!

Satisfied

A/n: this is a one shot based on the song "satisfied" from Hamilton(if you haven't listened at it, I recommend you to in order to understand better! But it's not exactly just a copy, I got inspired by it!). Have some angst while I figure out what to do with the main story.

Anyways this has nothing to do with what I've written before, it's not the same temporary line or anything! Btw, I know I said I can't write Pika at this moment but before anyone kills me, I meant Pika x reader. It's kinda hard for me, still don't know the reason. I just wanted to clarify it and apologize again for those who are waiting for more Kurapika. I'll make it up to you someday I promise ;;

It was night. You and your best friend Kurapika were hanging out in Leorio's house since he was throwing a Halloween party. You dressed as a ghost, as a pun you had with your friends on how you were super silent and people didn't knew you were there so you and Killua loved to act sneaky and scare everyone to death.

Leorio greeted you both once you arrived, your friend dressed as a vampire which fitted well his pale skin and was funny to see his eyes turn red on purpose to make it look more realistic (but of course, he never kept this for long).

Both of you were chilling on the sofa while drinking lemonade. Neither you or Pika liked to drink alcohol. Leorio was kinda tipsy already, it was funny to see him dance with the others. The house was full with joy and people having fun, but you weren't exactly the life of the party. You preferred to stay home with a good book, always, it's just... You couldn't decline anything Leorio asked you to do. Well, unless it was radical.

You wanted to tell your best friend how you've fallen in love with the guy you both met in the hunter exam, you were so excited to tell him and see how things go. You two flirted a little during the exam and afterwards, but you weren't sure if he reciprocated your feelings or not.

It's been a while since you last fell in love, so you aren't sure, but at least you knew your feelings were real.

You've never felt such a connection with anyone. The first time he looked at you with those gentle, smiling eyes you knew he was a good person from heart. There's no one that can make you happier than him. He's funny, supportive, sweet, caring... He's done so much for you, and you would do anything for him too. You were just crazy about him. It felt like flying, like everything fitted between you two, it was like you were made for each other. Oh, God, you were so in love.

You were about to start talking with Kurapika about it, of course not mentioning Leorio's name, but you thought he was far enough not to hear you. Then, the future doctor came to take your hands and lead both of you to the dance floor.

You were embarrassed and awkward but Leorio's moves were so silly and funny you ended up just giving up and having fun too.

The party ended and Kurapika and you left together since he always walked you home. Now it was time for you to talk with your friend once again, and try to explain to him.

"I have to tell you something" you both said at the same time, which made you chuckle.

"You go first" Kurapika said, but you waved your hand.

"Nah, you"

"Okay then..." he inhaled deeply. You could see his face getting red.

"I'm in love with Leorio"

There was a moment of silence, where you even stopped walking and looked at him.

"For real?" you whispered under your breath.

"Uhm, yeah? I-Is there something wrong with it? Are you okay?" he was now worried and more nervous.

Your chest ached in pain as you saw whatever you thought you could've had with Leorio fly away. But you managed to put on a big smile and fake your happiness. You were happy for him, because you knew the black haired guy will make your best friend happy... But it just hurted so much.

You jumped to hug him and laugh and smile, screaming. "I knew! I knew! It was so obvious! Oh my gosh you have to tell him" you said, hugging him so he couldn't see your face in case any sign of sadness was escaping.

"R-Really? Ah! No! I don't think I can!" he stuttered, relieved you were fine but also still nervous because of the situation.

"Cmon, cmon, it's okay! I will get you a date with him! I wanna help my precious Pika" you hugged him tighter. "You two will make such a great couple"

"Really? You're amazing" he sounded really content now.

"Anyways... What did you wanted to tell me, Y/N?"

"Oh, haha, I already forgot"

And so, you started your plan to get them together. It burned everytime you saw them together, and when they eventually started dating. You knew it was the right thing to do. You knew Kurapika, if you have told him about your feelings he would have remain silent, Leorio would have been yours and your friend would have hided his pain, masking it with fake smiles and "I'm fine"s.

Yes. You did exactly the same thing. But you rather go through that pain instead of Kurapika, you loved him, and you loved Leorio, too. Their happiness is your first priority.

At least, you can think about what could have been. You remembered Leorio's soft and big hands in yours, his kind words, his chocolate eyes. Those eyes...

At least, Kurapika is with him. At least, you get to keep him in your life.

T o d a y

That's how you got here. It's almost night. You're on a party again, but pretty different this time, the party after their wedding.

You're, of course, Kurapika's maid of honor, and so you were asked to make a toast.

"For this amazing new marriage!" you raised your hand, holding a cup champagne. "May you always be satisfied" you smiled at your best friend, who was holding your beloved tall man's hand. "For Kurapika and Leorio's forever happiness. I'm sure they will make each other so happy"

"This wouldn't have been possible without you, Y/N", the now doctor approached you, holding your hand. Your heart ached. It's been years, but you would never forget him. Those words were sharp knives. If you just did a different thing...

"I'll always be thankful" the blonde one whispered while hugging you now, which made you smile, tears flowing from your eyes. You hugged him too.

"Are you okay?" your friend's husband asked, as gentle as always.

"Yeah, I'm just so happy you two are together"

"I'm sure you'll find love someday too" Kurapika said, wiping your tears off, before going away with his man. The one that could've been yours.

You couldn't help it but imagine yourself in your friend's place, married to the man of your dreams. Their golden rings shined when they waved at you as goodbye.

"I already did" you whispered to yourself, watching them get away from you, together.

"I guess I'll never be satisfied"
