Kanao Tsuyuri is a very quiet girl who barely talks to anyone at school. Sometimes, people would think that she's mute so they simply didn't have interest in her.

Tanjiro Kamado is a very pure and innocent boy who always make people smile. His smiles could just make you fall in love with him.

When Tanjiro transferred to Kimetsu Academy, he started to get interested in Kanao which soon lead to him having romantic feelings for her.

"Tanjiro, have a great day at school" says Mrs Kamado. "Alright Mum. I'll be back in the afternoon!" Says Tanjiro and he left for school. Tanjiro arrives at school and he went to look for the teacher.

Afterwards, he was taken to his class. His homeroom teacher was Kyojuro Rengoku, every student's favourite teacher. "Everyone, we have a new student, Tanjiro Kamado!" Says Rengoku-sensei.

Tanjiro bows to his class and introduces himself. Kanao, however, was not bothering about anything. She was simply daydreaming, much like her classmate Muichiro Tokito.

Tanjiro smiles as he decided to choose the empty seat beside Kanao, but the girl hasn't noticed. Tanjiro smiled and tries to talk to her. "Hi there! I'm Tanjiro!" He says. The girl turns to face him.

For the first time, Tanjiro had fallen in love with a girl. It was love at first sight. He was stunned by her beauty and she sparked his curiousity of wanting to know her more.

Kanao on the other hand felt nothing. Kanao simply nods and turns away from him, much to the latter's surprise. Tanjiro was an optimistic boy. He decided to try and get her to talk again later.

Lunch time came and Tanjiro had already made friends with Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira even though he'd gotten Tanjiro's name wrong. "Zenitsu, Inosuke, I've been wanting to ask, you know who's the girl beside me?" Tanjiro ask.

"Oh, you mean Kanao Tsuyuri. She's a cutie and a beauty but she barely talks to anyone" says Zenitsu. "I see..." Tanjiro mentally grins. He's definitely interested to knowing Kanao more.

Thus, for the next few days, Tanjiro have been persisting to get Kanao to talk to him. Strangely, Kanao wasn't annoyed but rather, she was curious as to why the new boy would keep coming to her.

Even still, when Tanjiro kept pestering her, Kanao always has smile on her face which made Tanjiro fell for her more. So one day, Kanao decides to muster up some courage and finally talk to Tanjiro.

Kanao's Pov:

"Tsuyuri-chan!" I turn around and see the burgundy boy. "Hi there Kamado-kun" I said and the boy gasps. "You're talking!" He exclaims with a smile and I found myself blushing.

"Is there something you need?" I ask. "W-Well, I just, I guess. I really wanted to talk to you" He says with a blush and somehow, I find it cute. I giggled softly. "Well... After pestering me for some time, I thought I could let you off" I said.

"Say Tsuyuri-chan, I heard from the other students. Why don't you talk to them?" He ask and I gave a sad smile. "Well, 'Kanao' is fine. And the answer to that, well... Something happened during my childhood" I said.

"Oh... I don't mean to pry into your privacy but... May I ask what happened?" He ask softly. I started to hesitate. But I feel that I can trust him. Maybe... He may be the one who would bright out the light in me again.

That was what my cousin, Kanae Kocho said to me when I was younger. "When the time is right, that will be someone who will bring out the light in you", Kanae-neesan had said it. And I believe her.

"I got raped when I was younger. I was traumatized and also sexually abused. It happened for a year until my cousin saved me" I said. "O-Oh my... How could a pretty girl like you encounter such horrible experience?" He ask.

I blushed when he said I was pretty. I gave him a smile. "Well, my cousin saved me but after that, I sort of stopped talking to people" I said. "May I ask, who is your cousin?" Tanjiro ask.

"She was a former Ace student, Kanae Kocho. Her sister Shinobu is our Senior" I said. "Oh I see, Kocho-senpai" I nodded. "I... Would like to thank you Kamado-kun" I said.

"Just call me 'Tanjiro' like how I will call you 'Kanao'. And... Thank me for?" I smiled. "It was your persistence that made me feel like I should start talking again" I said. "I-I'm glad I could help" He was flustered but I found it cute.

- Time Skip: 2 Years Later -

Today is the day that we finally graduate from Kimetsu Academy. And also, today I have decided to confess to the one I like, Tanjiro. Ever since I talked to him, I began to have feelings for him.

At first which I didn't understand but after consulting Shinobu-neesan, I finally know. However, I'm afraid of getting rejected. So, may this be the last time I see Tanjiro.

Because after graduation, I am flying over to Canada for my College. And Kanae-neesan is there too but in a different College than me. After my confession, I'll tell Tanjiro.

After our graduation ceremony ended, the students took pictures and hugged one another. As for me, I was looking out for the burgundy boy when I found him talking to his friends, Zenitsu and Inosuke.

"Tanjiro-kun!" I called and he turns and waves at me. I blushed with a smile. Tanjiro then came running towards me. "Hey Kanao-chan! What's up?" He ask.

"Tanjiro-kun, I've got something to tell you" I said while fidgeting my fingers. "Just nice, I've got something to say too. But why don't you say first? Ladies first you know?" I giggled softly.

"Tanjiro-kun... I like you. You brought back the light in me. I really like you and... I'm leaving to Canada soon. So it's okay if you don't feel the same-" I was cut off when Tanjiro wrap his arms around me.

"Kanao, I wanted to say the same thing. I've liked you at first sight. Getting to know you more made me fell in love with you more" says Tanjiro and I blushed. "Tanjiro-kun..."

"So Kanao-chan, can you be my girlfriend?" He ask and I smiled. "Yes, I'll be your girlfriend" Tanjiro smiled and we hugged each other. "But Tanjiro-kun, I'm leaving for Canada" I said.

"I don't care where you are as long as I know you're still under the same sky as me. We can always talk through texts and video calls" says Tanjiro and I grinned. "Tanjiro-kun... Arigato" I said.

"I... Love you Kanao-chan" I smiled and did something quite bold. I kissed his lips. Yes. Lips. On his lips. On Tanjiro's lips and he was taken aback. But eventually, we shared our first kiss together.
