AU: Giyu x Shinobu

Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho are childhood friends who were separated at a young age. They didn't had any contact with one another for many years.

Until one day, Shinobu's parents decided to set up an arrange marriage for Shinobu. Shinobu however didn't liked the idea of marrying some stranger she doesn't know.

Shinobu decided to seek help from her older sister Kanae but even she couldn't do anything about it. The dreaded day came for Shinobu to finally meet her future husband.

Shinobu sighs as she stares at her mirror reflection. She wasn't looking forward to today. It's the day she's meeting her unknown future husband. "I don't like this" She mumbled.

"Shin-chan! It's time to go!" Mrs Kocho yells. Shinobu sighs and grab her purse. "Coming!" Shinobu calls back as she heads to her parent's car.

After driving for about half an hour, the Kocho family arrived at a luxurious restaurant. Shinobu was stunned. She wonders, 'Who in the world is so rich to book us here?'

"Come on Shin-chan, your in-laws are already here" says Mrs Kocho. Shinobu made a straight face and entered. A waitress then bowed and lead them to a room.

Shinobu and her parents entered and was greetee by her future in-laws. "My my, is this Shinobu? Really a beauty!" Shinobu simply smiles at her future mother-in-law. After the introduction, Shinobu went to take her seat.

"Yuko-chan, may I know where is your son?" Mrs Kocho ask. "Oh, he's running late but he'll arrive" says Yuko with a wink. Shinobu glance around before she decided to stand up.

"What's wrong Shinobu?" Mr Kocho ask. "I just... Need the washroom" says Shinobu. Mr Kocho nods and a snap of his finger, Shinobu was lead by a waitress.

Shinobu enters the girls washroom and simply sits in the toilet bowl cover and sighs. She fumbled through her purse and took out her wallet and then something from within her wallet.

"Tomioka-san, I missed you" Shinobu mumbles. It was a picture of young Shinobu with her childfriend, Giyu Tomioka. However, fate was playing with them as Shinobu left him without saying a word.

She didn't mean to. She just wasn't given time to even say goodbye to Giyu. She was instantly moved to America and had only returned just last year while her older sister Kanae stayed there.

After some time passed, Shinobu decided to head back since she was getting hungry. She arrives with looks from her parents. "Sorry, upset stomach" She says.

"Oh dear, are you sick? Here, apply this oil onto your stomach. It'll make you feel better" says Yuko. "Thank you very much" says Shinobu as she returns to her seat.

After about 10 minutes, the food was served but Shinobu's future husband never showed up. 'If he has not come, maybe he wasn't into the idea as well and ditch' Shinobu thought. "I apologize for my son's absence" says Yuko's husband.

"It's alright Chiro. Your son must be a busy man" says Mr Kocho. Chiro chuckles. "He's only a high school teacher" says Chiro. Shinobu's ears perked a little.

She remembered that Giyu said he wanted to be a teacher when he grew up. At that time, Shinobu hasn't got any idea what she wants to be. Eventually Chiro and Yuko's son never turned up and Shinobu was glad even for a little while.

A few days later, Shinobu called her cousin Kanao Tsuyuri to hang out together. Kanao agreed and they both met up at a nearby cafe in the mall. Kanao was 2 years younger than Shinobu and thus, she's in her Sophomore year in high school.

"Shinobu-san, it's been a while" says Kanao. "Sure has Kanao. How have you been?" Shinobu ask. "Fine. Although we did had a new teacher a few months ago. He's not so bad but no one likes him and he doesn't know it" says Kanao ane I giggled.

"I wonder. What kind if person is he?" Shinobu asks. "Well, he sounded monotone most of the time but he does favour about three of my classmates" says Kanao and Shinobu nodded.

"Shinobu-san, have you started College yet?" Kanao ask. "No, not really. The thing is Kanao, my parents don't want me to continue my studies. They want me to get settled" says Shinobu.

"Get settled as in get married? To who?" Kanao ask. "Some unknown stranger through an arrange marriage" Shinobu says. "Oh my, have you met him?" Kanao ask and Shinobu shakes her head.

"He didn't came so I don't know what he looks like" says Shinobu. "What did Kanae-san said about this?" Kanao ask. "Even she's of no help"  Shinobu says with a pout and Kanao chuckled.

"Kanao, who is your new teacher?" Shinobu can't help but to ask. Some part of her was hoping to be Giyu while another was trying not to get her hopes high. "His name is Giyu Tomioka"

Shinobu's Pov:

After I had that talk with Kanao, I had gotten the address of her school. So here I am, outside the campus of Hashira High School, the school where Tomioka-san is working at.

I still can't believe that I finally get to see Tomioka-san again after so many years! I have to explain to him that I didn't meant to left him alone that day! Just then, the school bell rang.

Which meant that the students are being dismissed. I decided to wait patiently by the sideline. After some time, I finally noticed a familiar hair style of someone familiar.

I smiled. "Tomioka-san!" I called. He turned around and his eyes widen. I smiled and ran to him and gave him a hug. He was taken a back and he immediately held my shoulder. "Kocho?" I nodded.

"It's been too long Tomioka-san!" I said with a grin. But I couldn't tell what he was thinking. Nonetheless, he brought me to his house. "How are you Tomioka-san?" I ask after arriving at his house.

"No good since you left without notice" He says coldly and I suddenly felt guilty. "Tomioka-san, I'm sorry I left you without notice. I wasn't given time to tell you" I said. "Nonsense"

"Please believe me Tomioka-san! If I had the time, I would definitely have told you! Because I love you and I couldn't bare to leave your side but my parents still made me move to America without giving me a chance to say goodbye!" I said. My eyes widened. Did I just said I love Tomioka-san?

"You... Love me?" He ask and I suddenly became flustered. "W-Well I-I-" "I love you too Kocho" He says and I stared at him. "Ehh?" Tomioka-san then gave me a hug. It's so warm... The warmth of his body...

"Tomio-" "Giyu" I gave him a confused look. "Call me Giyu and I'll call you Shinobu" I smiled. "Giyu-san... I love you" I said while blushing. "I love you too Shinobu and I'll forgive you for what happened" says Giyu.

"I'm really glad to see you again Giyu. I've got other things to tell you" I said. "What is it?" He ask. I then explained to Giyu about the arrange marriage that my parents had set up to the son of Chiro and Yuko.

Giyu's eyes widen before he chuckled. "What's so funny?" I ask. "Funny since fate is playing with us. Chiro and Yuko are my parents" My eyes widen before we both broke into laughter.

Maybe fate is playing with us. Maybe this arrange marriage wasn't so bad after all. Nonetheless, I'm reunited with Giyu Tomioka, the man of my life.
