"You need more rest! The other nurses said you need at least 2 weeks of rest!" Sayori tells MC.
"I'm not staying here, Sayori. Monika could use our help. And we have to fight either way, we'll probably be sent to the front." He states.
Sayori and MC continue to argue. They could go with Sayori's option, which involved staying in sick for the whole match, which is boring and may result in a loss. Or they could join Monika in the fight, possibly help bring their team to victory. But both possiblities had their risks.
No one had any idea how badly the Allied team treated their prisoners of war, or how ruthless they are. But they knew their German team were major offenders. War crimes galore. Perhaps surrendering to the enemy wouldn't be so bad. If they give themselves up to the British them maybe they can go home.
"C'mon Sayori, at this point we're giving up. A tank's the safest place to be on the battlefield."
"But we have no tank! It was blown up along with the others. A-and we'll probably be sent to fight anyways." Sayori said gloomily.
MC thinks long and hard.
"...But Monika is out there. You said, that you wouldn't let anyone else die. Now's the time to act. If we do this sure we'll be safe, but Monika will be fightin' while we're sitting 'round doing nothing."
Sayori sighs. She knows that she lost this difficult choice.
"MC, just promise me something...", she lets up.
MC listens closely.
"Please, MC, don't leave me. I-I can't lose another one of my friends." Sayori's voice breaks on the last word.
They look into eachother's eyes and see worry.
"As long as you don't leave me. Y-you're my dearest friend Sayori, of course I won't leave you. We're in this together, till the end. I'm not gonna let up until we both walk out of this war together."
Her eyes light up through the tears. And MC's heart strengthens.
"Together." He says.
"Together." Sayori repeats.
-----------
MC takes his time while washing up. He stands and looks at himself in the mirror making sure there is no stubble on his face. If there was, Eckhart would probably kill him. After a final face-wash he puts away the razor and dries off. MC feels rejuvenated after a proper cleansing. Now, time for breakfast.
Sayori meets him with a pair of crutches.
"Here, these should help." Sayori hands MC the two crutches.
He props them up under his arms and moves on. They are very helpful. Finally, MC could get a move on.
But he almost forgets.
He grabs his old uniform. It's still stained with his and Yuri's blood.
"Maybe I should wear something else..." MC shakes his head, eliminating the scary thoughts in the process.
"Here," Sayori hands him a different uniform that came from one of the deceased patients, "This should fit you."
After a quick change, MC hobbles through the door. Sayori follows.
They were on leave to go back and fight.
