Amara
I let out a big yawn, I just woke up, I'm still really sleepy, I looked at the clock on my bed side table.
"Damn, it's already 9" I itched my head aggressively, "It's Saturday anyway" I decided to go back to sleep.
***
15 mins later
I heard a sound from the window, I got out of bed and looked out of the window still squinting my eyes trying to make myself awake.
I saw Jareth looking pissed off with his arms crossed. "Hey" he said firm raising an eyebrow.
"Where did you go yesterday? I was looking all over for you." still having that cold expression on his face.
"I thought you already knew" I replied sarcastically rolling my eyes, I assume he already knows, because he always end up knowing everything I do.
"I don't trust him" Jareth said referring to Skylar.
"I don't too, but we need to watch over him for the time being."
"What do you mean 'WE'? Excuse me, that's your responsibility."
"I know you too well. You will help me or follow me around regardless" I smirked in victory.
"Do whatever you want, just don't get into trouble." he said before leaving.
Well thanks a lot Jareth for ruining my peaceful slumber. I got out of bed, got changed and went down stairs straight to the kitchen. I made myself a sandwich for breakfast, I took a bite as I walk outside.
Morning sunlight touches my skin, it's a nice day. I'll go to the Café, might as well read something while I'm there.
I opened the door cold air blasting towards me. I went to the counter to order.
"Good morning Miss, What can I get you?" the girl in the counter said greeting me with a smile.
"I would like to have a iced café latte and a cheesecake please."
"Name?"
"Amara"
"That'll be $5"
I grabbed my wallet, took out 5 bucks and gave it to her.
"Okay, We'll just bring your order to your table, when it's ready" she is still smiling.
I left the counter and went to my usual table. I bought a new book from the bookstore nearby a week ago. I figured that it's the good time to read it, while waiting.
Moments later my beverage and cake arrived at my table.
"Here is your iced café latte and cheesecake" he smiled and left.
"I have a bad feeling about this" I said in my head. And I guess that feeling is right because there was a piece paper with a phone number written on it under my plate of cheesecake.
*heh* nice try. I'm getting sick of this to be honest.
~~
I look at the time on my phone and it was already 1pm "shit" I need to get to training. Lucky for me training starts at 3 pm but I like to go early.I arrived at the training grounds, I am the first one here as always. I changed to my training gear. I started doing warm ups. I still wasn't good in throwing knives, so I decided to practice.
I aligned myself to the target, and prepared the right form to aim. I threw the first knife.
*bam* it landed just outside the middle of the target.
"tsssk, still not perfect" I threw another knife, it was too high. I adjusted my form and relaxed took a deep breath and.... *bam*
It lands on the middle. I finally did it. I tried not to be full of myself and still continued throwing one knive after the other. All of them hit the middle.
"Yes, I finally did it."
"Impressive." a guy appeared from the trees behind me.
"Thank you" I gave him a straight face.
"Are you ready for training?" I firmly asked.
The other trainees just started arriving.
"No need to concentrate on me, I can handle anything." he smirked and threw a knife in the middle of the target with ease.
"Nice, better than me" I smirked back at him.
"Okay everyone it's time for warm ups. 5 laps around the course in 10 mins. Your time will be recorded" I announced.
I'm always assigned to be the instructor for the new comers, most of them are just disappointing, but some are decent.
10 minutes later everyone finished.
"Skylar" I called him, and he jogged towards me.
"6 minutes not bad, and not even looking tired yet, compared to the rest of you" I said while looking at the other trainees.
"Actually more advanced than the rest of them." I admit he is more susceptible than usual new comers.
"Amara!" I turned around and saw Jareth.
"Wow, you're late. You're not usually late. " I said sarcastically, while he was approaching us.
"Sorry about that, Alpha gave me an assignment." he said looking not really sorry.
"Yeah right" I rolled my eyes and focused my attention to the trainees.
"Everyone pick a partner, it's time for two rounds of hand-to-hand combat...." I announced and looked at Jareth and skylar
"And Jareth as your punishment for being late even though you are Co-instructor you get to join them on this activity" I announced and smiled at him.
"Easy enough" Jareth said with confidence.
"Don't think that I would make it easy for you Jareth" I smirked.
"Skylar you partner is Jareth" I added.
"Sure" Skylar smirked with intimidation.
I already know that I will enjoy this hehehe, let's see if I'm right.
"Everyone start" I yelled.
I am really focused on those two. First attack came from Jareth. I can see that Skylar is light on his feet, he dodged it with ease, his attacks are fast too. Jareth is also pretty fast. They just dodge each others attacks. Skylar won the first round and Jareth won the second.
"Okay finally you two are done its a tie, I was getting sick of waiting, but I did enjoy watching you two beat each other up." I said and turned to the others
"Let's wrap this up training is over." I announced that training for today is over.
"Let's go Amara" Jareth said while still catching his breath.
While walking, "Tired much?" I tried to annoy him
"I got to admit that guy is no joke" Jareth said."That's the point why I paired you with him" I laughed.
"So, you knew that he was that good?"
"Yes of course, if you got there earlier you would have known. That's the punishment for being late" I teased.
"His warm up record is 6 minutes too" I added.
"I think he's trained before" Jareth said suspiciously.
"Anyways, bye Jareth." I said because we already arrived at my house.
"Bye."
