"One important thing to know Y/n. There are some foods you might not like, but even if you don't like them- they can still add flavor to a dish.  And some ingredients might work better or worse, all you have to do is experiment"
"Oh I understand now, so if I put cinnamon in my milk, it'll taste bad"
"Haha no, Y/n your still to young to figure this out, I just said all of that so it stays in your head. But you're right, cinnamon with milk wouldn't be good unless you add a bit more ingredients!"
"What~?! So it's not that easy..?"Y/n pouted and looked upset with how cooking might be for the young boy
"Don't worry about it, this will be easy for you. I am your teacher you know"grandpa just chuckled and petted Y/n
"So then... how should I start? I can cut vegetables and fruit, but that's it..." the little boy looked down and pondered of how to approach this challenge
"... okay! I think I know what I want to eat now"
"What may that be sir?"
"I want to make Bach of cookies!"
"Well, it is a good idea since it can be for dessert. And you know how grandma loves cookies"
"Mhm! Yeah hehe!" Y/n was excited to cook something for his grandma so that maybe she could eat one with him and his grandpa
"Hmm... I know cookies are soft so we need like bread or something?"
"Cookie dough"
"Cookie dough? What's that? And why is it called cookie dough? Why not just dough?"
"Woah there sport, one question at a time ok?" Grandfather chuckled at Y/n's shine and thought about how to answer his question
"Well... it's good that your interested and you're asking questions, but what would be better? Is if you research the question you want answered"
"Re-search..? What are you saying, papa? Did an alien take your body and make another one of you?!"
"Hahaha oh, Y/n your sense of imagination. Research is just a fancy way of saying "look for the answer"
"Oh... well where can I find my answers?"
"Well, what question do you want answered?"
"Uhm... I'm confused~ papa stop being smart!" The both of them laughed as they were having fun conversating

"papa- we forgot to make the cookies~!"

"ah your right I guess we got caught up in talking about how to answer your own questions"

"no more papa~! I just wanna cook now. I've been waiting a long time now, at this point I will be a grown-up when we finish talking.

"hehe ok ok, I understand. so this one time we'll make cookies, but the next time we'll cook something else."

"mhm! I am always ready for a new challenge. I will overcome every challenge you give me papa!" Y/n gave his grandpa a confident look as he was excited to be good as a cook like him.

grandpa took out the needed ingredients to make chocolate cookies. Y/n standing beside him, helping out the best his small hands could. Once everything was out, grandpa began teaching Y/n how to roll the dough and what to do afterward. Y/n was successfully at his second try, which his grandpa was impressed with. Thirty minutes later and Y/n was able to do exactly as his grandpa told him and might have made better cookies as he experimented with the cookies without knowing. Grandpa widened his eyes when he experienced seeing Y/n experimenting. He was shocked as he realized that Y/n had made something better than him right off the start of his training. Once it was time to bake the cookies in the oven, Y/n was playing with the cat. Grandpa smiled at the sight and read a novel about a mysterious story, as he loved mysteries, and puzzles. Y/n and his cat played tag even if the cat was way faster, he let Y/n have a chance to run before he would get tagged the second he touched his fur. Half an hour later, the cookies were ready and Y/n ran to the kitchen and grabbed a stool so that he could see the cookies. Following behind him was grandpa, wearing mittens to grab the boiling hot tray of cookies. Y/n's eyes sparkled with joy that could be matched to a child getting a present.

"papa! When do you think they'll be ready to eat? Or at least when I grab them?"
"oh... I'd say... In 5 minutes, just let it cool down so it won't be that hot"
Y/n groaned and pouted as he wanted to give everyone around the village his baked cookies. Soon y/n figured out to read a book, and once he got one, He had difficulty trying to read it. Every word didn't make sense and it was too hard to read or make out the words it had been written in. So after 7 minutes of struggling to read he gave up and looked at the time and noticed he was 2 minutes late. He ran to the kitchen and grabbed a stool to get the cookies, but he had been prepared and grabbed many plastic bags to give to every family. Four cookies in each bag and ran straight to the door.
"I'll be back grandpa I'm going to give our family food~!"
He ran out the door so quickly Y/n didn't hear what his grandpa had said. He ran house to house, handing bags of cookies with a friendly smile.
"Where could Mr. Tanaka be..? oh there he is selling food to Mr. Bunji"
Y/n squinted his eyes and looked harder and saw it was the old farmer and a young carpenter. He ran over to them and greeted them and gave a bag to Mr. Bunji and then to Mr. Tanaka
"And one for you Mr. Tanaka!"
"Oh well thank you Y/n how nice of you, do you mind if I eat one right now? I'm starving"
"of course Mr. Tanaka, I'd be glad if you did" Y/n smiled while Tanaka ate a cookie, while, the little cheerful boy was hoping for a positive response. He got what he wished for, the old man had a warm smile that can melt ice in the wintertime.
"ah, tell your old grandpa I said thank you will you"
Y/n shook his head and giggled
"nope~! I will not!"
Then the boy popped out his chest and spoke confidently
"because I am the one who made these cookies!"
"really?! Wow you might just better at your old gramps"
"mmm maybe better at baking but, I still have much to learn hehe!"
"well, then you keep on practicing so that one day you can become a famous chief. Oh and if you ever wanna know a thing or two about farming, come visit me champ."
"well I have to go now Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Bunji"
"stay safe kiddo"
"goodbye Y/n"
The boy ran by to his grandpa to tell him the news of his cookies he handed out to everyone
