HANNIBAL BATES walked into the roomy shoe story with the small bell above the dor signaling his arrival. There was no one at the wooden counter other than a small red-haired girl who seemed keen on whatever was displayed on her computer. The little girl, who could be no more than fourteen, glanced his way and her eyes lit up.

"Barry! Lucy said you couldn't make it!" The little girl ran around the counter to Bates, in Barry's body, and held out her fist. Bates confusedly bumped his fist against the girls.

The girl frowned, "C'mon, you couldn't have already forgotten our handshake."

"Oh, uh, sorry?" Bates supplied. He was never good with children, being around them made him feel uncomfortable. It's like they needed every second of his time, and frankly, he didn't have time for them, but apparently, 'Barry' did.

Before the little girl could say anything else, a red-haired woman walked from behind the counter in a back room.

"Barry?" She asked surprised. She too walked around the counter to see him, "I thought you had a case."

Bates' shrugged, now was the time to play, "The guy turned out to be innocent. I knew he was, but we needed to prove it." The woman, who Bates assumed to be the 'Lucy' that was texting Barry, nodded.

"Okay, did you come to pick up the shoes you ordered?" Lucy asked. Barry seemed to be a bit off today. Could have something to do with the case though.

Bates nodded and looked around the store, ignoring the red-haired little girl that was just kind of staring at him. Lucy walked back to through the doorway, slightly hidden by curtains.

The little girl pulled his hand towards behind the counter, "C'mon, I need some help. I'm stuck with the research and how to display it."

Bates followed the girl and glanced at her laptop cover. It read 'Penny's Laptop' in a fancy font with some raindrops around it. So her name was Penny. Good to know.

As Penny droned on and on about the problem she had with 'Punnet Squares' and 'Genetical Research of Quantities', Bates looked behind the counter. He couldn't help it really, he was just so used to snooping in other people's bodies that he just slipped his hand out of his pants pocket and it slithered, by itself self of course, towards the register about a half-foot away. He just opened it and started to grab the money in the hundred bill place when someone slapped his hand.

"BARRY!" Lucy stood there with a shoebox winded up again as Bates caressed Barry's hurt hand.

Lucy looked at him with hurt eyes, "How could you?"

Bates stayed quiet. He knew if he opened his mouth some not so family-friendly things would spew out. Lucy grabbed Penny's hand and tugged her to her side, protectively.

"Is this what you were after all this time?" She asked, "You come in here, get our guard down and then steal? How could you? I won't call the police, but if I ever see your goddamn face again I will call them in a heartbeat."

Bates stayed quiet again as Lucy glared him down, "Do you understa-"

Bates leaned forward and pressed his lips against Lucy's, trying to get out of the sticky situation he was in. Barry obviously had some kind of feelings for Lucy, so maybe he could get away with it. Well, he thought he could until Lucy pushed him away and stared at him like she wanted him dead. Like if lasers were her eyes he would be six feet underground.

Bates stared at her as she breathed heavily.

"Get out." She pointed at the storefront door. Bates made no movement.

"I said GET OUT!" She yelled angrily and Bates walked out as Barry, looking back momentarily. Barry would definitely feel those consequences when he visited again. Guess he would have to order those shoes online.

And now, it was time to go to S.T.A.R Labs.

Sorry for the short chapter, I just didn't know how to stretch this and so it ended up short. Don't worry, more to come. Uh, be sure to vote and comment if you enjoyed the chapter. Tell me, who was your favorite first season mini villain (can't be the Reverse-Flash)?
