PETER KINGSLEY sat on his twin bed in his room with his phone propped on his chest with the help of his hands. He was bored. Aspen was having a sleepover with one of her friend's at school, Genevieve was at the library working on an AP Chemistry project with someone, and Penny was in her "quiet mode" which meant she was writing some important essay that was due soon and she needed to be alone with no distractions or interruptions.

Lucy was taking a break from handling work on Shoe Central so she was watching her comfort movies, Hallmark Movies, and frankly, Peter did not want to watch sappy, predictable, romance movies with the same actors and same plot repeated. But apparently, that was what Lucy liked about those movies.

Anyway, that left Peter, sulking in his room with nothing to do especially ever since the ankle monitor was placed around his foot. Lucy was true to her word when she said Aspen was ready to decorate the bulky piece of metal. She used some neon paint to "spice" it up and then the monitor was all painted up. And the colors changed every week or so when Peter would take a shower.

Fun note: he had to wear a plastic bag on his leg when he took a shower so the monitor wouldn't fry and electrocute him and he was not willing to risk setting the house on fire or causing an explosion just because he wanted to play around with his powers. That was a big hell no.

You may be thinking why Peter hasn't gotten his ankle monitor off yet since it's been quite a while since he's gotten it on, but it's because he tried multiple times to get it off.

The first time he tried he attempted to trick Cisco into thinking that Lucy gave him the okay to take it off, but Aspen ended up telling on Peter to Cisco AND Lucy.

The second time, Peter attempted to pretend to hurt his ankle. The part of his ankle directly covered by the ankle monitor so Lucy would be forced to have it removed. But what he didn't account for is the ankle monitor being put back on right after Caitlin found nothing to be wrong with his ankle.

The third time, and yes there was a third time because Peter didn't learn anything from his two previous attempts, was to be dangerous and try two different things. One, get Aspen or Penny to attack him so they can break the monitor off him (although this would have to be carefully planned). And two, get every single appliance that Peter could possibly get his hands on and try and pry the monitor off his ankle without blasting his foot off.

That's when Lucy really got mad and pointed out that Peter was being even more reckless than when he had his powers. To which Peter responded.

"Then maybe you should just take my [BLEEP]ing monitor off."

To which Lucy extended his ankle monitor time by six more months on top of the time Peter spent trying to get the damn ankle monitor off. Nothing seemed to work.

So hence, Peter was in his room, bored out of his mind like he assumes he will be for the next six months of his life. Right now to pass the time, he was texting Lila who thankfully was always there when Peter texted her. Not even once did she leave him on read for more than ten minutes.

He thought after he got kidnapped by Zoom that he would get his ankle monitor off, but when he asked Lucy, she just told him to be patient. Peter had pointed out that he would need to be able to defend himself if he got kidnapped again to which Lucy responded with reminding him of those self-defense classes she made him and Genevieve take one summer ago.

He and Lila were just texting about what they were going to do this summer, assuming that Peter can actually do things. The excuse he used when people saw his ankle monitor was that it was a bulky version of a Fitbit, recording statistics for a year because he volunteered to do this observational experiment.
