Chapter 3

Your POV

It was morning.
The sun shined through your SUV window, brightening up the whole room.
You woke up to see Laurie was gone.

All of a sudden, there was a knock on your door.
You answer it and see a young woman with long black hair and wearing a Japanese school uniform.

"Who are-" Before you could ask who she was, she barged in and started looking out your windows like she was making sure no one followed her.

Then she signed with relief and sat down on your couch.
She then finally acknowledged you and gave you a surprised look then started to blush.

"Uhh... Hi?" You say confused.

"Hello." The young woman said shyly.
She looked around your age and was very beautiful.

"I didn't know we were getting a new survivor." You say to her but she tilted her head in confusion.
"Ok then. Can I ask who you are?"

"My name is Rin." The woman said.
Her stomach started to grumble then you became concerned.

"Are you hungry?" You ask her and she nods her head.

You walk towards your refrigerator and grab a sandwich.

"Here you go. I hope you like tuna." You smile and give it to her.

To your surprise she devours it immediately like she hasn't eaten in months, maybe years.

"I forgot how good food could taste. Thank you." She says casually but that just gave you chills down your spine.

"How long have you gone without eating, Rin?"

"Six years."

"S-Six years!? How are you alive?"

"The Entity keeps us alive. It says we don't need food to live. Our bloodthirst does..." Rin said with despair in her face.

When she said that, a spark ignited in your head.
You started to back away from her and in the process you knock over a glass plate that shattered on the floor.

"What's wrong?" Rin asks you concerned.

"Stay away from me!" You say with false confidence.

"You have nothing to fear, (Y/N)." Rin started to walk towards you.

"I know your one of the killers. I have plenty to fear. Amanda and Freddy showed me that." You say with your heart racing ready to burst.

Rin let's out a deep breath then speaks.
"Yes. I am a killer. But that does not mean I'm here to harm you. I'm here to help you."

"Why would you want to help me?"

"No one here enjoys this endless game. Not even us killers. We all have lives we want to go back too."

The pain in her voice made you believe her then you started to gain your composure again.

"I agree. What are you gonna help me with?" You ask Rin.

"I am here to warn you that the killers now have add ons. These add ons can now boost their powers, making your trials more harder and ours easier."

"Does it matter anyway? I mean, we are just going to end up here in the end." You say extending your arms to emphasize your point.

Rin shakes her head.
"I guess no one told you."

"Tell me what?"

"In ten days The Entity will hold The Bloodfest Trials-" Rin was interrupted by a knock on your door.
Her eyes widened then continued,
"-you must tell no one I was here. Please..."

"Ok. But I need to know more."

Rin pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to you.

"This is all the information you need. Goodbye (Y/N)-" Rin stopped talking and froze in place.
You felt a cold hand on your neck and cold lips on your cheek.
The feeling made you blush then there was the feeling of a small breeze that passed right through you, like a ghost, or... A Spirit...

Rin's body vanished and you were left with so much confusion and questions running through your mind.
But right now, you had to answer the door.

You put the paper in your pocket then answed the door.
It was Kate.

"What's up Kate?" You ask her.

"Meg wants me, you, and Laurie to go on the next trial. So we need to go now."

"Wait? Three people? Who's the fourth?" You ask her but her expression answered your question right away.

Kate looked angered, disturbed and disgusted all at the same time.

It was Jake.
You still didn't know what was Jake and Kate's history but that wasn't important.

What was important was reading Rin's letter as soon as you could.

You knew something big was going to happen.
Hopefully the paper in your pocket had all the answers.

Can you trust a killer?
You had no choice.
