ORIGIN: It wasn't Maeum's intention to be placed into a group different from her own and from a different company. It has been well known information about SM's project to copy BTS' one girl boy group. It was intended with WOF's Sunyoung when she was a trainee at SM and was set to be placed in NCT but she had left before plans could be finalized. Prior to the news revealing of the group themed around the Avengers, BigHit was offered a proposal, a contract in which established the concept with their own respective members but BigHit denied considering their own groups plans.
SM then settled for one member in a negotiation: Maeum. BigHit was quick to deny any sort of usage of their female member. When asked, she too denied being apart of a group that wasn't her own. It wasn't until the other's opinions and SM's badgering were involved did things take a turn.
