I walk over the frostbitten terrain, admiring the colors of the lichens and shrubs that dot the landscape. During the sunset, this land comes to life like wildfire, the russet browns, deep red, and rust orange of the plants vibrantly lighted by the sun's dying light. I sigh again, and think to myself "Such a lovely land, a shame that the Civil War tears us apart.", as I walk ahead, alone, into the coming night. I make it to Whiterun by darkfall, to be met with closed gates. The guard turns to me as I walk up, "What business have you in Whiterun?" he asks. "I am here to speak with Jarl Balgruuf of Riverwood. I am a survivor of Helgen." His eyes open wide, as he motions the guards to let me through. I make my way to the large castle, Dragonsreasch. I have heard rumors that the castle was meant to hold a dragon. Who, in their right mind, would want to do that?

I reach the massive doors of the hall, and push them open. I sight the Jarl, in a heated talk, with his guard and housecarl. I don't try to evesdrop, but I can't help but to hear, a dragon has been sighted.

I step forward, speaking to the Jarl, "There is a dragon loose. I saw it!"

"Come forward, Dunmer! What is your name?" I step up toward the Jarl, and speak loudly enough for all in the Hall to hear- "I am Raevyn Telvanni, member of the House Telvanni", and I hear a gasp from his Dunmer guard, "and I am here as a survivor the Helgen dragon attack." He eyes me, and as he seems to see that what I speak is true, he speaks to me regarding the situation. I run him down everything I know, pausing as he asks questions, answering them as best as I can. "And as for Riverwood, they need soldiers there to protect them", I finish. "Done.", he says, "But I, well, not exactly I, need your help. My court mage can fill you in on the details", he explains as he leads me to a room just off of the main Hall. "This is Farengar, my court mage," he introduces, and he explains to him that I am here to help.

"A dragon attack survivor? Eell, you seem better than the typically brutes he brings in here. A Dragon Stone is what I need, and you seem intelligent enough to find it.", he says as I pull out my map. "You see this area here? This is where you will find it. No doubt, it may be tricky, but you mer are the types to figure things out." I accept his contract, a stone for a few septims? Couldn't be easier. I rent a room at the Bannered Mare and rest for the night. The stone can wait.
